And yes I "appreciate" his contributions but he needed to fuck off last summer. That cake shite would have gotten him shipped out of a club that didn't let the players assrape the club for fun.

Cheers

I may be way off the mark here but I believe FFP was a factor when it came to the Yaya situation last summer. We couldn't sell him as we didn't have the funds to go out and buy a top player to make up for the hole he would've left behind.

As to those saying Yaya's had a shit season, he hasn't reached the levels we know he's capable of but he did hit double figures last night for goals scored, not bad for any centre mid.

FFP had nothing to do with sending him out. We had a net spend cap so any funds we got we could have spent.

Can't imagine this team would have been lower than 4th playing Milner in midfield all season after telling Yaya and his agent to sit and stew or find a deal because when you fuck us publicly like he did, we fuck back harder.

Cheers

That's my point. What we could receive for Yaya would be nowhere near what it would cost to replace him hence we weren't in a position to do that last summer even if we wanted to.

Well, genius...my point is that we hardly had to buy Pogba to do the crap we've accomplished this year.

Get it?

Cheers

What's that got to do with the price of eggs? What we've done this season isn't good enough but perhaps if we'd been in a position to suitably replace Yaya we may have done better.

Get it genius?

Let's not kid ourselves, yaya, silva, et al are great players. We've had our time playing with the yaya, silva, nasri system and I think that not only have we been sussed out, but it's grown a bit stale. We need a shake up, we need a different player to give us a different angle of attack. Of the three, I want to keep silva and work him in to a new attack.

The biggest boon to our FFP situation would be offloading yaya's contract, retool and come back stronger and hungrier.

I'd be half expecting a loan to buy offer considering it's an Italian club we're potentially dealing with here.

That story is half-baked.

I imagine we'd have to pay a chunk of those €73m wages as well.

For all those german readers out there.

To summarize, Inter are prepared to pay 73 mil euros for Yaya Toure, plus offering him a huge salary, almost 54 mil in 4 years.

If this comes true, Mancini should be called Sir Bobby from now on, around here.

MADNESS!

According to that Article, as far as I can tell, the 73 mil is for Yaya. That's what Inter would be willing to pay him over five years. The transfer fee, as far as I can see, isn't mentioned more than they would have to pay it on top of the salary costs. Perhaps I'm reading it wrong though. Zuri or TomS could perhaps be of better assistance.

I also don't think someone repeatedly tapping up one of our most important players qualifies someone for an accolade ;)

Well

"Manchester Citys Mittelfeldspieler Yaya Touré (Foto) gehört übereinstimmenden Medienberichten zufolge zu den großen Transferzielen Inter Mailands im kommenden Sommer. Nach Informationen des „Daily Mirror“ sind die Nerazzurri bereit, dem 31-jährigen Ivorer einen Fünfjahres-Vertrag mit einem Gesamtgehalt von rund 73 Millionen Euro zu zahlen."

Gesamtgehalt = Total Earnings ( over 5 years of 73 m euro). Could include a signing on fee etc , who knows exactly.

However the most important item is in bold . source : the daily crapper. Not really worth much time and effort when they are involved with any rumour.

no, i don't Braniac.

We could have sold Yaya and bought any number of players with the wedge that we had plus the outgoing and gotten by just fine, obviously, as Yaya's been pretty much absolute dogshit all season save a few performances. Not worth his wages this season at all.

HOWEVER, IF we had sold him and actually even STOOD PAT with say Milner with the Ferns in midfield instead of Yaya and played some of our academy lads for cover, we'd probably have been no worse off, perhaps even much better...Milner'd have signed a deal, some kids would've gotten blooded and we'd be in a position whether we need to do something like Pogba, or something more middle-class in terms of another midfielder.

Do you get it?

I'll explain it again....

Could we have sold Yaya and bought a replacement even with FFP restrictions, Doomie?

Yes, mon frere, we could have.

Also, Mr Merchant, could we have sold him and just worked other players in around him and used the money this summer instead?

Why yes, we could have done that as well, and without really changing the reality of what we accomplished this season, which is Sweet. Fuckall.

any questions?

cheers

Just one.

If we had sold Yaya and accomplished sweet fuck all how many City fans would be criticising the club/Txiki for selling Yaya?

Now the figures look less appealing and he will be taking all the cash i'd still accept 18-20 millions for him.
