It's not the lack of silverware that's the issue.. It's the performances and "trajectory"

Agreed.
MP currently does not appear to be able to motivate the players.

Before Christmas, not a huge concern, we played well but sometimes didn't quite get a result.

Post new year, we keep putting in shocking performances even though we may be scraping wins in some games, it is much more concerning.

I agree. That being said we've had a sharp drop off in results in the middle to back end of the season each of the last 4 seasons. It's weird but it nearly cost us both titles we won.

African cup must play a part, but it can't be just that.
Tracking back is overrated.

It's because the squad lacks athleticism & balance imo. We have never had a balanced squad, just a very very talented one. Fernandinho, Navas, Negredo, Fernando , Mangala are all attempts to put right an inbalance. As were Rodwell & Garcia, Sinclair.

We did the best we could to build a balanced squad but it's not easy when you are trying to win your first Prem title. Since then we've had several attempts to improve certain areas, but at the same time, some of our key players also needed replacing.

Barry, Nige, Tevez, Lescott, even Micah, were fucking huge players for this club. They don't get the respect they deserve.

Or there are loads of people jumping to conclusions and assuming that's what they're on about.

Well the ones I'm talking about, who I've read and spoken to, unless they are all speaking in a secret fucking code, it doesn't need interpretation as they've just fucking said it! How the hell anyone could come to a wrong conclusion about it, I have no idea.

I ain't moaning about not winning trophies, my main angst is us continuing to play in a manner that doesn't suit our players.

I agree with that and am starting to believe that this may be holding back some of our youngsters too. They can and do play the way we seem to want the 1st team to do. But they'd be slaughtered in our current first team. I hope we see the start of thst changing, this summer.
