FIFA will mete out same punishment as Barça's
Real Madrid and Atlético to be hit with transfer ban!

Real Madrid and Atlético to be hit with transfer ban!

Both Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid will be immediately banned from all transfer activity for the next two windows (this coming summer plus the next midseason winter window), according to Cadena SER and Cadena COPE Spanish radio stations.

FIFA has decided that it will hand out the same sanction that it has already given to Barcelona.

After much deliberation, football's international body has reached the conclusion that both Madrilenian clubs are guilty of continually breaking the rules regarding the signing of underage players.

I have no idea how reliable a source Cadena Radio station is though, but if true it seems the competition for the likes of Reus and Pogba will be a bit less fierce. With the exception of Bayern, I don't see what clear superior alternatives there exists with Barca and Real not allowed to do transfers this summer.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Real will appeal and then do two windows worth of business this summer like Barca did. The judicial system is flawed (unless we get done) and plays into the hands of the clubs.

I was hoping Real we're going to relieve Chelsea of Hazard this summer - though good news if they're not on the Pogba hunt though

I actually want Hazard to stay in England as I enjoy watching him play. Sure, it will make our job a harder but it's not like it's impossible

Pogba will shackle him next year no danger.

Pogba can just stay at Juve for another season. Not a problem. They are doing better than we ever have. If we want him, will have to make Juve kick him out in a fit of greed I think.

Unless of course Real aren't actually interested. But I assume they will be.

Makes De Gea's situation interesting if Real are genuinely after him.

I think Reus should be our target, not Pogba. Like Yaya, Pogba does not like to defend that much, so if you ask me, i would rather have the two Ferns in the middle + another type of Javi Garcia player and buy Reus and use it next to Dave and Sergio.

Spot on. This actually makes it worse as Real will ensure they get their targets, whatever the cost. Barca did it with Suarez during their appeal period, even when Suarez was banned from playing.

And will FFP actually touch them?

The story is being reported elsewhere now:

http://www.espnfc.us/spanish-primera-di ... an-reports

Of course they will appeal, so gathering it won't affect this summer's transfer window.

Did Barca's really take 2 windows to come into effect? I thought it was just last summer?

More reason for them to go in big for a few players

True, but I am guessing we can still pay him higher wages, and playing in the Premier League is better for players' global marketing than Serie A, even with their performance in the Champions League.

This will affect Atletico more than Real. In fact, I doubt it will do nothing more than prove a minor inconvenience for Real. They will simply follow Barca's model and stockpile players this coming window. They will just show their financial clout and after all, money talks.

If I was being cynical, I would suggest this is actually something that has been engineered by Real, in order to stop the progress that Atletico have made over the past few years and ensure they no longer present a challenge. Of course, that is too fanciful, surely......

Just been pondering this NB.

At first, it made me smile but the more you think about it, the more it now seems highly credible, especially if Real get off scot-free (which I'm surmising they will) and Atletico get clobbered.

This one might be well worth watching.......who knows, if Atletico do get it in the neck, it could be a trial run for crucifying City.

Isn't the ban in effect this summer meaning they have no window in which to stockpile players?

Just means Bale isn't going to the rags....hahahaha.

They would appeal a ban, like Barca, and buy players whilst the appeal process was being undertaken
