I thought so too - I spent around three quarters of the match thinking he was Hiwula though.

It was never ever going to be given but when you see the slowmo the full back puts his hand/arm under his armpit and just shoves him over. 100% penalty but all you ever hear is he should have been stronger there.

Myself and my young lad watched the second half together when he came in from football training. I thought maybe we were looking at it through blue-tinted glasses, but it did seem to me that we got absolutely nothing from that ref and some of our players got a bit frustrated by this.

there were several chants throughout the match of "you're worse than Clattenburg", I hope he wasn't watching though as we have him against Swansea this weekend! :-)

I agree it should have been a penalty, and their first goal was well offside. It shows the Sky bias, when they showed replays of an incorrectly flagged offside call, but failed to show any "offside replays" of a clearly offside goal.

The packed defensive setup, then fast counterattacks into space, has been an effective system that has frustrated our first team many times this season. We had some shooting chances last night, but efforts were poor, and never troubled their keeper.

After United were comprehensively beaten by Barcelona at Wembley in the 2011 CL final, United played Barcelona in a summer USA friendly. United let Barca have all the possession, but packed their defensive third of the pitch. Barcelona, without Messi, couldn't find a way through. United then used the open space to launch long, with their faster attacking players, to score 2 goals on the break. Ferguson was lauded as a tactical genius for overcoming the Barcelona possession game.

I'm sure our team's will continue to face these defensive setups, and we must learn to counter them, and be more clinical with our finishing. It seemed we knew how to pass, but not how to shoot.

Sorry to quote just one thing mate but if they're getting hideous decisions in the youth game, it says a lot about the first team.
