Expensive midfield!

Postby Wonderwall » Thu May 14, 2015 3:08 pm

Pick any one of the following midfielders

1. Fernandinho Luiz Roza
2. James Milner
3. Samir Nasri
4. Jesus Navas
5. David Silva
6. Yaya Toure

They individually cost more than the combined midfield that Juventus put out last night of Pogba, Vidal, Pirlo and Marquisio!!

I know those Italians love a bargain and often screw us over, but that midfield costs a total of £13m

You gotta love a bargain!

When Juve cash in on Pogba, he'll cost them more than that.

Sadly if we buy him, we'll end up paying the filth a hefty chunk of that money.

Why, is there some sort of sell on clause?

WTF. Never heard of that. Is this a fixed percentage and does this apply to all players or is it something that clubs agree with themselves on completion of a transfer?

Training compensation shall be paid to a player’s training club(s): (1) when a
player signs his fi rst contract as a professional, and (2) each time a professional
is transferred until the end of the season of his 23rd birthday. The obligation
to pay training compensation arises whether the transfer takes place during
or at the end of the player’s contract. The provisions concerning training
compensation are set out in Annexe 4 of these regulations

I swear I give you lot too much credit, might have to resort to writing essays like Ted if you continue to be this fucking clueless.

Thought we just received a fee from Chelsea to be honest. You live and learn

In theory those midfielders you list are probably the strongest 6 that any squad in the world has. I bet every other club would happily take 2-3 of them into their own midfield squad.

Totally underperformed or deployed incorrectly this season.

Not sure I really agree with that ^

I don't think most teams are desperately jealous of Milner or Navas. Yaya's on his way down. Nasri indifferent for most of the year and never gonna be truly truly world class. Silva is excellent and Fernandiho is class too, but I don't think Real Barca or Bayern to name but three would be jealous. Milner and Navas play as wingers for us don't forget, so comparable to wide men in other teams like Bale etc. So you've got Real who have James, Isco, Kroos, Bale, Illaremendi, Khedira etc, Barca with Xavi, Iniesta, Rakitic, Busquets, Neymar, Rafinha, Pedro. Bayern with Xabi Alonso, Thiago, Schweingsteiger, Robben, Ribery, Martinez, Gotze, Lahm (he plays there now it seems) and so on. Some would argue that Chelsea's is better, or PSG's.

Ours is good, yes, but not the best in the world.

We've paid a pittance, in respect, yet you've thrown us to the wolves,

Large wages, eh?
