I thought people were talking about how accurately tests can pick up drugs in the system, rather than the way they got into him.
Did we not start off with 'a bird being involved' before getting on to accuracy.
I dunno, I get lost with doomys fantasies recently
No, we didn't. That was drawing on an established case/excuse regarding how drugs got into a tennis player's system.
A question to someone who might know more: cocaine leaves the system pretty quickly, as far as I understand. How can they measure the amount taken/ingested? Are there two separate parts of a drugs test, one to measure how long ago something was taken, and the other to measure the amount currently in the system?
2-4 days. You have an LoR looking for the compounds that signify cocaine usage and while some of the compounds exist in other things(Icecream, cigarettes, etc) it's the combination of compounds and minimum levels of reporting that confirm it's usage. Confirming how much really all depends on how long ago it was taken as the body breaks down and absorbs the chemicals.
In short, you can confirm a positive, you can only tell how much if you know when, and you can only confirm when if you know how much.
Hair follicle test is about 3 months I believe, not entirely sure how that works though or if that can give you a more accurate picture(which they wouldn't have done anyway).
