Wouldn't say joey. He'd burnt his bridges through actions, the dabo incident sealed it for many.

Distin aye. I remember being the only city fan at school who didn't begrudge coton his move to the rags either. Keith curle got some shit from the north stand on his return.

That's about all I can think of to be honest. By and large, mostly everybody has been well regarded on their return.

He himself could admit to the same, banging on about loyalty on Twitter trying to imply sterling should be staying.

Cunt he is.

Most of those players didn't really move to further their careers though.

They purely wanted more cash, & fucked off/caused ructions, when we really needed them. Sturridge pretended he was leaving to get games, when obviously he would get fewer games but more money & that left a bad taste.

I think on the whole, it's been the money grabbers & liars who got the worst shit, not those who genuinely went in order to improve themselves..

SWP went, obviously partly for money reasons, but moreso, to try & win trophies & got nothing but cheers when he played v City.

Very similar to the Sterling situation now, except we knew we were nothing special wheras they don't.

Distin. If it had been a big club and not Portsmouth, we would have understood. Then again, he won a cup winners medal there, so maybe he was justified.
Billy McNeill, fucking us off for Villa felt bad at the time.

I always wondered why that was the case. Four years previously they were European Champions, and we considered ourselves somehow above them?

I was only 14 or 15 at the time but that is how I saw it. Plus they had some money to spend and we didn't have a pot to piss in. I did smile when they joined us in Division Two though, I have to say.
