Came across this article yesterday

http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/why ... aK_tYR2FYA

The bit that stood out for me was this

"the thousands of New Yorkers who have bought into the club in the Bronx deserve to have their team treated like a wholly independent and serious exercise. There’s reality, then there’s right."

I've noticed this attitude amongst NYCFC fans on their message boards. Firstly, why do they expect to be treated independently when the club was formed as part of a collective? And secondly why would they feel it's not being treated like a "serious exercise"? Are they really that naive that they believe that CFG are only investing millions for a laugh?

What fanbase dictates their club's policies? Sure, the club should listen to the fans but they can't let the fans dictate on policies.

I'm sure this attitude is just coming from a vocal minority but I find it extremely bizarre considering they didn't exist until recently.

They are massive cunts if they weren't City fans prior. I hate them. I'll never support nycfc because of the vocal minority. And the media. It's as if we've fucked with MLS and their brilliant bullshit plan to have Beckham own a club in NYC so there's an agenda buried deeply somewhere. We aren't supposed to be there nearly. Invisible man mark II.

Anyway. If you support nycfc and are a city fan prepare to hear loads of anti City shit. A lot. They are cunts. Watched a match in the Mad Hatter this summer and felt I could literally want to beat the fuck out of this group of cunts bitching about Lampard and how City have fucked with their club. Their fucking club? Do me a fucking giant vagina shaped favour.

Fuck off nycfc. Forever.

Cheers

Beckham was never going to own a club in NYC. If he did he had to pay the full expansion fee and not the discounted fee that was in his contract. The second team in New York was almost the Cosmos 2 years before NYCFC was even announced.

Completely understand where you're coming from Doomie given what I've read but I can't not wish NYCFC well because ultimately what's good for them is good for us.

Well, I'm a native New Yorker and support NYCFC, so of course am backing this move, and eff the vocal minority. We always have fans like that here. It's really not a big deal.

However, the level of anger is way out of whack as this is a good relationship for both clubs if you ask me.

So, some NYCFC fans are the idiots that a few typical loud mouth sports talk radio types always sound like here.

In NY, and in the Northeast part of the U.S. when it comes to sport fans compared to other parts of the country this is common.

Wanna get an inkling into what those fans are like? Watch this film:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1228953/

or go listen to this radio station:

http://player.radio.com/listen/station/ ... 66-wfan-ny

and get a sense of the idiocy of some of the fan base here. When the Knicks, our "real" NBA team, drafted a white European (Latvian) player with their draft pick (a move I was excited about when it happened) these types booed him at the event (he's btw playing well now and become very popular with fans already):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwfnZKOr1Bc

However, while these types exist, there are also a lot of intelligent fans here who are not like them, and surely support the link between the two clubs.

The team is one season old and sure, there is a contingent of MLS fans of several teams that are delusional nativists who have about as much nuance to their thinking as Greg Dyke and don't get or want to accept the reality that MLS is not a top league, and are insecure about it. As a result this is what you get.
