That's not the same to be fair, he was over priced for sure but never really talked about and raised to be something he wasn't as most of the players in this thread have been.

I actually thought that SwP wasn't rated highly enough by people outside of City.

Russel Beardsmore
Lee Sharpe
Wio Ferdinand
Dwight Yorke
David Beckham
Nicky Butt
Phil Neville
Wes Brown
Eric Cuntanhalf
Jesper Olsen

There's many more I'm sure but my fingers have started to bleed having to write the names of anything associated with them bunch of shitstains

I actually thought Nicky Butt was underrated and that all the focus was put on Keane being the hero when Butt did a lot of the dirty work as well.

Still unsure if the rumours of him having a City tattoo are true or not.

He gave an interview to the Mail a couple of years ago where he said he didn't have any Manchester City tattoos.

He was class for us first time round, our best player when playing on the right, in the middle or up front, should have been in the England squad, but as said above he wasn't rated as highly as he should have been, you needed to play for the big 4 back then as the media where having a love in with them cunts. (The move to chavski ruined him).

This was a case of a big club actually ruining an excellent prospect's progression. We get accused of it because jack Rodwell was perennially injured, but swp was rarely injured. He just wasn't a Mourinho player.
Then again neither was de Bruyne or mata.

IIRC he got off to a good start, for both Chelsea and England?

Hate to say it but he should have gone to arsenal. We weren't big enough for him and Chelsea was the wrong move for him

The season we were in division 1 with KK and he played 3-5-2 with wing-backs a SWP was on the right he was absolutely quality! Was devastated when he left for Chelsea and couldn't believe it when he came back home!

Yeah mate he was amazing then.

I remember he scored two goals for us v Bradford in maine road. It was fucking freezing, but I'd take a cold arse and a warm beer in that place than most of the ones I've had in the Etihad.

Shortly after my 21st.

Sigh....
