Ex-City Players in the Media

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I find Quinn largely even handed, and hearing Danny Mills commentating most weeks, he is a harsh critic of most teams.......it's not like he's throwing us under the bus and bigging up other clubs at our expense.

Bellamy has been like a breath of fresh air on bein sports in recent months, and I think he certainly has a little hard on for us from what I've seen. Gray and keys also tell it like it is now they are away from sky, as (surprisingly) did Michael Owen who well and truly climbed down off the fence when recently they did a show about Uniteds managerial issues.

It's all down to sky's editorial policy. Outside the uk, the pundits isn't as blatantly anti-city

So you do understand then. :-)

No, the posts in the thread seem to be expecting Quinn etc to give us fucking blowies and speak out for us.

I just want people to be even handed, which in the Middle East, the same people being accused in this thread of being cunts generally are even handed when removed from the sky editorial policy

You mentioned even handed and the middle east in the same sentence. ..

There's a joke in there somewhere, I'm sure of it...

What has Paul Walsh said? I dont want to believe that one, hes was a bit of a hero of mine. TBF id probably be a bit fucked off if i got binned for Gerry Creany

The worst is Danny Mills. His commentary on the Leicester game the other week was actually disgraceful. Complete cunt of a man.

Trev Sinclair is the man though. Proper blue. Would really like to see Paul Lake on TV more at our games. Utd get the likes of Cole and Yorke. Why cant we have someone who is a diehard city fan.

Thank heavens for small mercies. I don't believe in God but I do remember one night saying, please if there is à God, do something to get rid of that anti city twat Craig Burley.

I haven't heard his shite for quite a while. Cheers big man.

We seem to be creeping in. Andy Hinchcliffe has been promoted and sometimes Quinn speaks well of us.

Paul Walsh on the other hand has absolutely no City affinity. He just passed through here. I remember being at Crystal Palace when we lost (again). My firm had a box at Palace and I took my lad who was only about 7 or 8 then. Afterwards the occupants of the boxes went into the same bar as the players which was, I admit, a bit crowded. Walsh was first out and I asked at the bar if he could autograph the programme (old days indeed) for the lad. he said 'alright, alright give me chance' and then did it, with a grunt before necking his bottle of lager and heading off into London with all his glad rags on. The rest of the players were al politeness exonified and Keith Curle helped me round them up. despite the disappointment of defeat I think they were a litle glad somone actually wanted their bloody autographs.

Also, on Soccer AM, I remember them asking Walsh about the difference in meals after games between Spurs and Liverpool. He said that Tottenham would alwsy go to something posh whereas Liverpool would stop for fish and chips. Russ Williams asked 'what about Manchester City? He said, and I quote, 'lucky to get an apple and an orange' ho ho ho.

He can fuck off.

Thats disappointing. It wasnt long ago that i heard him on talksport saying how much enjoyed playing for us. And that we gave him a chance quite late in his career when no one else did. One of my first ever city heros that guy.

Well, I guess it's quite prestigious to be associated with us now :-)

I think this is all everybody wants, mate. From pundits as well as referees. It doesn't matter what club they played for if they are fair and honest.

We get him fairly regularly on RTE and he's usually sensible and even-handed. A lot less biased than the other Muppet Dunphy that we get.

In a sense this is slightly off thread as he is not ex City, but Ratboy was pretty fair with us. He was the only pundit to say our FFP punishment was bollox....simply punishing generosity, he said.
