Don't expect anyone to understand or give a fuck, cos brown cost £150 million and city should be able to cope with anything thrown at them so it's ok.
We are well and truly on our own, it's time the club recognised that and stop letting everyone walk all over us.
I'm a bit surprised that the jealously has lasted as long as it has. I would have thought that it would have subsided by now, but outsiders had probably hoped that our owners were short term / didn't know what they were doing / insert optional cliche. It's now dawning on them that we WILL NOT fail; the future is ours.
I also think that racism (perhaps subconsciously) is a reason for the hatred and for the hard time we're getting in the press. If our benefactor was a Christian American, German or Russian, or even a Chinese of whatever denomination, instead of a Muslim from the Arabian Peninsula, I do not think we would get the flake we're getting. How often do we get to hear "Arab owners", "(dirty) oil money", etc.
Mr Nool...I suspect you are spot on !!!!
It's not difficult to google a list of the owners of the PL teams, extract any race , religious or cultural information. Then extract through google a list of owners of the various media outlets ( including talkshite) and identify the owners based on the same criteria of race , religion and culture.
You would get some interesting correlations.
Our owners are damn fine Abu Dhabians.
i have no idea what religion they are, i also know nothing about their culture. I could not tell you if they feel insulted about being labelled 'Arabs' , as some may find an association with 'Arab terrorists' offensive.
At the end of the day our club is supported by people of all races, religions and cultures and i believe we are the better for it being so.
I remember an old guy smiling one time in the Kippax, a grin so wide ! I had seen him for most of my school years and later , always in the same spot. I had no idea. He was so proud, his Kaziu, his Deyna was playing for his team ,Man City. This Polish migrant had come to God's own City and God's own club to watch football and became a City fan.Now he could watch his home country's hero in the flesh every other week.
These things make City great .
