Charlie Stillitano is just an American businessman who has an MLS "pedigree" that he's turned into being a star-fucking footy exec wannabe who pals around with the footballing elite.
I listen to him on the radio a couple times a week and he's an insufferable douchebag who name drops Baconface every couple minutes.
You're reading too much into this because you don't know the characters involved i think dude.
cheers

It's not unreasonable to think that the old 'big 4' would meet to discuss changes to the CL or look at the possibility of a European super league.
And with our strong business model and us being the most successful English side over the last 5 years, it's not unreasonable to see that we are now part of these discussions.
I personally would hate the idea of certain teams guaranteed a spot in the CL because of their 'history'. But with the amount of money involved, I seriously doubt they were meeting just to discuss a pre-season tournament.
The talks may well come to nothing. But it doesn't mean they were not talking about something bigger.

The question isn't really 'would you pay good money', but more 'would someone out there pay good money'. And I think the answer to that is a big 'Yes'. Imagine a league with 10 teams, each playing each other 3 times - home, away and 'neutral', in the USA, Indonesia, etc., with teams pimped out to other confederations as 'guest stars' in domestic or continental cups - something that even South America would probably want a piece of.
I hate the idea, personally, but it's a dream scenario for executives and sponsors alike.
