To be fair, you don't hear of many professional footballers going on to better things after retirement...

Last I heard was he had a waste recycling business in Eccles that went into liquidation at the beginning of last year.

Not sure you intended it, but your wording there made me LOL.

Never realised it was in Eccles, I thought it was down south in Slurry.

I will start. Georgi Kinkladze is somewhat of a agent. I am saying somewhat because from what I understood, he is working with football agents, but not as a scout.

Glauber Berti has a night club in Rio Preto and plays for a amateur football team in Brazil. What is Richard Edghill doing? Or Danny Allsopp?

He was jogging past my house a couple of weeks ago with a couple of ladies he seemed to be helping get fit. I'm sure he still works at the club in some capacity.

I understood that also Alex Williams works for the club.

I am curious, maybe the older posters can fill me in, but was he any good?

I went to Tibilisi for a poker tournament last year. The first day I was dealing and the few players that spoke English would start a conversation with me, where you from etc... talk turned to Georgie straight away, he's still a big deal over there. They kept telling me he plays poker now. Day 2 (1b) they had me supervising and a few hours in guess who showed up to play (he didn't last long). He has the exact same face hasn't aged a bit, he has got fat though.

Good keeper, from what I've seen of old games, who was forced into retirement much too young.

He's a Moss Side lad, though, and retired just as the area became notorious for being problematic. He worked unbelievably hard to promote football in the community, and, as a local lad in his late 20s who was still a star in the eyes of kids around there, was just the right man, in the right place, at the right time to have a massive impact through the CITC programme. He's been working on football in the community projects for the best part of 3 decades (having come to us from a similar role at Port Vale), which is more the reason that he works at the club, rather than being a 'hospitality face'. He's also a really, really nice chap, great with kids and older fans alike.

To add to that, Alex did the Maine Road tour for us in the final season at Maine Road. He came across as a decent guy that had genuine love for the club.

When you said a painter, I though hall stairs and landing type LOL, I had a quick peek at www.jimwhitley.com , looks like he'd give David James a run for his money, that and the brat pack tribute, fair play to him.

Jeff appears to be selling cars at www.stockportcarsupermarket.co.uk and back coaching youth having received help from that FA or PFA rehab place.

I was in Warsaw a year or so ago, and me and the missus went on a guided tour of the city, conducted by a rather delightful young Polish lady. Amongst all the history, and the genocide inflicted by Hitler and Stalin, she very proudly showed us a statue of what she said was Poland's most celebrated footballer.
Of course it was none other than Kazimierz Deyna.

Right player, wrong time. IMHO the team at the time should have been built around him and he should have been looked after a lot better than he was.

Met Jim Whitley and Alex Williams a few times in the mid 90s. I used to work for a print company and they'd come in seperately. Jim for copies of his artwork and Alex for us printing the City in the Community stuff. I remember Jims mum used to come in for printing too as she used to write novels or scripts or something. They were all always pleasant. I think Jim had a Fiat at the time and Alex was flyin about in a dark blue Escort Cosworth (Well nice). Later, I was surprised to hear that when Jim had his problems hed actually been caught up with a lad I was friends with in primary school. Mad really.

Gotta say.. I really miss the 90s.
