Didn't we do the same last summer, sign a 25yr old Aussie and then loan him out lower league over here, Luke somebody?

Luke Brattan, loaned to Bolton last season. He's now gone to Melbourne on loan as part of the Mooy deal.

It can only be about money. A player farming industry.

Otherwise why not just loan him from Melbourne to Huddersfield and have done with it?

I wonder if part of it is showing young players are bud the world that playing in our teams will be a better shot at moving up?

I wonder if it's part of a complex business transaction involving money, a paper trail, favors and blowjobs even?

A: yes. It is.

Cheers

Maybe it is of interest Carl. Because the whole CFG thing is a bizarre mystery which the club refuse to explain beyond the statement that there will be more.

Some inkling of wtf is going on instead of giving us all the mushroom treatment would be nice

We sign players that go out on loan immediately, as do several clubs, particularly those that are more difficult to get into the team. The thing with Mooy is he is not a 16-19 year old. He's more experienced, just not yet necessarily the finished product, and unlikely good enough just yet to get into the team. He and City may be thinking, go out one year on loan to see if he can be good enough to make it into our team, or perhaps show he's just good enough to sell to a lower table Premier League club.

Word was PL clubs were interested in Mooy, but maybe they also would not guarantee him a place in their first team squads either. So, even if he has a better chance to get some games there, if he has a poor run of form he may not be able to get back in so easily, especially if they are desperate for points. If he plays this season in the Championship, where he is more likely to play every well, performs well, which he is more confident of, English clubs will get a much better look at him, and either we decide to put him in the squad next season or either loan or sell him out the next.

I don't think this is as bizarre as some are making it out to be. What we did last season with that other player may have been related to some other things, but this situation is a bit different as the quality between the players and potential is quite vast as I understand it.

I thought that was interesting.
Would have been riveting if it involved a few rides as well.
