This I do agree with. Loved it.

tbf we've gotten quite regal and complacent with the shit talking post Mancini....The "This Charming Man" era produced some champagne footy at times, but when we capitulated we were always out with a whimper and not a bang.

with Mancini and Mario we had players who weren't afraid of some banter and a pushfight. Tevez as well.

I miss that. We need a motherfucker someplace in the pitch or the dugout...maybe Pep will slap his penis against Jose's head again, figuratively, and create some drama?

cheers

I have nothing but respect and fond memories of the Mancini era. He came with a specific plan - firstly to make us defensively solid and then give us the freedom to attack. He executed it exactly as plan.

In the first phase there were definitely some occasions where we appeared too negative but it was all about ensuring the defence was solid. And it was. The Kompany-Lescott partnership was the bedrock of that and we've never had anything close to that since. Then the season we won the league we played some incredible football and scored plenty of goals to boot. He particularly unnerved Fergie which didn't happen too often - the vid above is a brilliant example of that.

His final season was underwhelming, no doubt about it. Playing around with the defence, particularly bringing in Nastasic was a mistake. And he fell out with too many people. When he left it was the right time to move on. But he was exactly the type of manager we needed and delivered as promised.

I think he's underrated as a manager. He's won trophies everywhere he's managed - only this recent spell with Inter was a genuine failure.

He has to have legendary status at City for that alone. Getting under Fergie's skin that season was absolutely brilliant.
