As far as i'm concerned I believe what he had to say about the Arsenal shirt being the only gear he had available to him at the time, he's followed it up by doing an interview in our away colours which is good enough for me. Above anything else the most important thing is Ade's safety, let's give him a reception like only City fans can when he returns from Togo.

Good post, I dont see anyone moaning now he's explained the situation. Should he have had to explain? Maybe not, but that comes with the terriotory of being a high profile high paid entertainer.

People were always gonna question why he had the shirt on. people need to stop being so sensitive.

Personally, I am relieved that he made it through such a horrific experience alive and, all things considered, well. I would prefer an Arsenal shirt to a bodybag any day of the week. The guy needs support and understanding, not the kind of petty bitching that has been evident on this thread.

Jeez.. Im not bitchin!! I was just simply wondering what the thinking was behind it . This is a forum and this topic is in correspondence to the title, 'why Ade was wearing an Arsenal shirt'. There's another thread where people share their sorrows on what happened. I really do feel there are so many out there that are still yet to grasp this whole internet forum malarkey!! Do you really think its so wrong and CrAZy that City fans are questioning why he has an Arsenal shirt on?? Im sure those on here that oppose to such questions are deep down asking themselves the same questions and wonder what the reason was for Ade to be wearing an Arsenal shirt. If you say you are not wondering such things, you're a lier.

Is it so wrong or crazy in this instance? Definitely. Deep down, I don't wonder why people wear certain articles of clothing, especially when they've been traumatised and I don't care if this is a different thread on an internet forum. My feelings and opinion on Ade remain the same; he's had rough time of it and needs help and support no matter what he wears.

That's my honest opinion on the matter. Keep calling me a liar if you want, I really couldn't give a toss.

Ok..I dont give a toss that you think asking a simple question to cure curiosity is so wrong!! I think you are totality over reacting and maybe doing so just to start some silly debate or arguement.Bit sad really. I just hope you're not so easily agitated in every day life!!

here's the issue...
of those who posted their "distaste" at Manu wearing that shirt, how many were "simply asking a question to cure curiosity" and how many were expressing disgust/anger. It's the second bunch who probably feel like tools.

But come on!! Stop trying to come across as a goody goody two bollox and just admit that when you see him with that shirt on you thought " what the fook is he doing with an Arsenal shirt on" ..Im an honest man and speak my mind, whether people agree with it or not.At least do the same. Some of the shite some are talking on here is unreal and laughable. I agree with the outline of what you're saying. But to have a go at people asking a question that the likes of you are THINKING is just cringe worthy.

Im not falling for it any ways..

what part of that is a question apart from "what is his thinkin"
In this situation you maybe should consider admitting that some folk overreacted. natural, but that things were said that shouldn't have been said

That was my reaction after seeing the clip. I then asked what the hell was goiing on! You really dont think "ah, he must have felt his gear on the bus" do you? After all he has already done( stampin on VP face, pissing the Arsenal players off, slagging the club off, basically starting a riot) I dont think its out of terms to then think he is on some sort of wind up when you first see the clip. He put myself, and Im sure many others, in a position to think such things.

I hope Adebayor can be a great player for us,but he hardly keeps his head down and gets on with the job. So far, he's been a trouble maker so its of his own fault that I had those first thoughts on the matter.

How booring is this thread?

So he had Arsenal shirt on? So what? Maybe he supports Arsenal? Who knows? Who cares?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

My initial reaction at seeing a player from my club on global TV wearing the Arsenal jersey was anger and disgust. He felt there was a need to explain why he was wearing it because the world wanted to know how the situation came about. He has now explained why and from that point of view it is dead and buried.

However, some like yourself Alex insist on pointing down (on a daily basis since this happened) from your high horse to those of us who initially expressed anger and disgust.

I will not apologise for being angry and disgusted at the time. They are both feelings that I felt at the time and I will certainly not "feel like a tool" for having those emotions.

I can tell you here and now if I see another city player wearing a rival's jersey on global TV there is a strong chance my initial feelings will once again be that of anger and disgust.

I have perspective and I'm not going into that bollox again because I've done it plenty of times - to the point where the thread has been renamed - but I also have honesty and I expressed my honest opinion when it happened.

As long as this thread rumbles on with snipey comments about how bad a person I am, how I should be ashamed of myself, how I should get perspective, how a man nearly died and I don't care and all the rest I will gladly keep coming back because I'm not ashamed of myself, I do care for human life... but this is a fucking manchester city supporters forum and if I feel angry or disgusted about anything related to the club, I can't think of a better place to express it.

Now, half you cunts should be ashamed of yourselves for making me explain myself in such detail when you all knew well where I was coming from in the first place. Remember, your side is the easy side of the argument to be on.

I sincerely hope some of you who had little digs aren't the same fuckers who celebrate the Munich disaster. You sick sick fucks.

See? Easy up on this horse isn't it?

Lets see when he comes back.

Not the same player after the Arse game.

He was excellent against Chelski and hopefully he can continue get back to the early season form.

I am confident our new boss will sort this situation out one way or another.
