***spuds vs pep's city***

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Reflecting on the Spurs game:

1. I am worried that our defenders are just not good enough to play Pep's style? (Bravo and Stones excluded).

2. I cannot see Spurs being able to have the energy to keep that style of play going.
They are going to burn out later in the season particularly as they also have CL football.

3. I am worried about the dippers. They play a similar energetic style but have no Euro football.
They may not burn out. Hoping they get cup runs to mess them up.

I take Mase's point about drawing them forward but it also brings the crowd into the game. Mix it up is what I'm suggesting.

I think that's the point though mate. Let them put pressure on the keeper and defenders and it creates a pocket of space behind them where Fern 1 is supposed to be because they're pushed up so high.

It was that yesterday people couldn't be arsed showing for the ball and giving their team mate and option.

spot on Dazby.

to be honest both of you are right... in that game Bravo needed to speed it up, but he needed the players to move too. If you watch it again what happens is while Bravo is dithering Spurs players had plenty of time to cover both the short and the midfield options. Yes ideally you want to pull the oppo upfield but that is only up to a critical point in time ie before they fucking get set marking very pass.
He / they should have sped it up

what's going with sane? why is he not getting any minutes? his pace would have been useful in breaking the press.
