MotM v Rags

Postby Beefymcfc » Wed Oct 26, 2016 9:07 pm

Thought we bossed it first half but were found out for the first kle play second. Not sure who shone for me, probably ........, I don't know!

Nolito, I think; maybe Kompany?

Thinking Nolito and Kompany, why would Pep bring off his best players?

No interest at all, get out early.

Has to be one of the young lads. Can we vote for both? No?
Ok give it to Garcia.

Garcia for me. Solid, good passing range and came back after the game bypassed him a little. Showed he won't hide which is a trait I like to see.

Pablo for me, he deserves a shot against West brom on the back of that performance. He potentially could step up with Sagna and Zabaleta both pushing on the timing couldn't be better for him to make an impression.

Garcia edges maffeo for me. Both made good showings for themselves.

Wait, you watched the game? Was it via some red tinted spectacles then? Wank? That's a bit harsh against a team that had arguably their best 11 on the pitch and in desperate need of a win, at home, against our Reserves, basically.

First 20 minutes or even more we were in full control and dominating. Then evenly balanced, somewhat. Changes at the half made a difference. Shaw got more help against Navas, Valencia did well, and their best players upped their games a bit, and we lost confidence, and also made mistakes...again (Nico).

Maffeo, Garcia, had good games with passing, creativity, ball control, and timely tackling (Maffeo). I actually I thought Navas was quite good in the first half destroying Shaw every time and delivering good crosses we couldn't quite finish. He is quite good at getting down high passes or slightly imperfect passes, I must say. Willy also had a good performance keeping us in the game with some good decisions and saves. Am I the only one who noticed him?

Vinnie wasn't so bad either except for his cross pitch passes, but in defence did well clearing any danger, no mucking around with sound, veteran decision making. Taking him out of the game I think hurt us after halftime. We looked much poorer on that end after.

Nolito did some decent things, worked hard, but he also had some poor touches that cost us some chances. Sane showed exceptional touch at times, but tried to do too much. He and Nacho seemed out of sync.

How anyone can vote for Kolarov is beyond me. What did he do well at all today? That one shot on goal says all of the things I feel when I don't like him.

Decent summary. I came away from that feeling quite good and gutted at the same time. Utd are crap and scrambled through that due to being a physically stronger team plus of course being at full strength. Kompany going off was a big blow i thought as hes experience and strength were vital in our defensive set up.

I thought there could easily have been 2 fouls against us in the goal build up but heyho.Over all I thought we looked much the better footballing side but a bit lightweight up front. Utd scored a goal and then parked that bus again

Garcia. Again showed he is far superior player to Fernando and if Pep picks Fernando again ahead of this young fella I will lose a bit of faith in Peps ability

Good call NB.

Went for Garcia myself.....I'm convinced, in time, he could be our Pirlo.

Signs are good. Fully twenty more completed passes than anyone else at 94%. That won't have gone unnoticed by Pep

Pal its like this ........
We were weak and feeble and NO shots on target !!! the rags are dire , losing to them is painful very painful especially if you live in the Manchester area . To lose so meekly is incomprehensible by MCFC standards no matter what competition it is , we were WANK , AWFUL and it hurts . We looked lost and devoid of a goal plus shite at the back it isn't good at all . Do I think we will turn the corner , YES absolutely but the sooner the better as we have some world class players amonst our ranks looking very disillusioned at the present time despite us just about hanging on to top of the league status .

Says it all that the 2 youngsters are walking away with this.

The fucking money paid to the 'b' team players who can't be arsed is disgraceful.

Yaya would have enjoyed the pace of the game it was that bad
