Jim Cassell

Anyone know what hes doing these days?

Started Bartons book(thanks joey!) last night and he mentions him as a mentor and the reason he made it as a pro.

Got me thinking about Cassell and how i had forgotten him in the last few years despite him been one of the main reasons we are where we are today.

I do remember a lot of pissed off people here when he moved from academy director to international whatever it was he moved to! Be interesting to hear what hes up to today, i seen a stat a while ago that our academy under him had produced more professional footballers than any other in the premier league.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know if that's still the case.

"Cassell left the club after a spell as international academy director, but is now a football development consultant and remains a City season ticket holder – and has just brought out his first book “Soccer World Champions”, about the football potential of the USA"

Guys is absolute legend. If it wasn't for him and players he turned into solid pros and saleable assets this club would have filed for bankcruptcy one time.

Never forget.

There were some absolute jokers, still members on this site, who tried to downplay his meaning when "Sparky" decided to get rid of him.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Hughes didn't did he? I thought it was part of the cfg plans with changing how the academy worked?

Nah, it was that fucking rag twat who pushed him aside. The Spaniards came and he was already buried within the club. Granted Spafia could have duck him back up to his rightful position as head of the Academy but that was not to be.

At least you own up to slagging off City legend and club saviour over some terrible rag fuck.
