Except that Khaldoon has been much better chairman than Cook.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Khaldoon was actually chairman of the BOARD not club chairman in classical sense. When Cook was ditched he took more operative role. You knew all this though.

That is technicality. He was doing the job football world traditionally calls "chairman". Sure they brought in these business world titles, probably Cooks who was never football man idea. Khaldoon was chairman of the board essentially having zero operational role as chairman of the board always have in business. When Cook left Khaldoon essentially took his role, the role we call "chairman" in football.
To put it simple, in football world chairman is essentially combination CEO and Chief Operating Officer. In business world chairman is chairman of the board with zero operational duties (at least in well functioning organizations).
Again, you knew all that.
