They should be more worried about man-marking Tevez... but they won't. They'll stick to their gameplan and we should stick to ours. I just hope and pray we don't start as cautiously as last week. How we got away with it I'll never know, but lightening doesn't strike twice.... we'll have to earn it and chances are with a similar gameplan we won't.

Bring it on!!

WE HAVE TO HASSLE THE CUNT WAY BEFORE HE GETS NEAR OUR PENALTY AREA.

IF NDJ WAS GOING TO MAN MARK HIM HE WILL GET A RED CARD BEFORE HALF TIME IMO.

You are spot on imo Carl.Leave De-jong to play his natural game and break play up before the ball can get to Shrek.

Memory is hazy but didn't someone from Bolton maybe do a job on Stevie G this season effectively taking him out of the game, only to be sent off and then see Stevie run ramoant at the end?

Point being it can work, even today. But we need someone extremely disciplined to pull it off. Maybe this isn't the best time to find out though, same as last time please.
Tracking back is overrated.

Mark his areas and cut off the supply imo.

I think you have it right there. We have to stop the midfield playing. We need a sterling performance from Gareth and NDJ.
If Shrek gets little or no ball he will be little threat.
For me we have to dominate the middle or spend most of the night passing in nice little triangles at the back, boring everyone.

Ankle! His face is disfigured already.

Dont mind man-marking him as long as it's not Micah! DeJong is the ideal candidate.

Not sure it's the Mancini way though.

We don't have anyone near good enough to man mark him. Cut the balls coming to him from midfield and frustrate him is the way to go. No way on earth that they'll end up with 11 on the pitch if we get hold of midfield, they've too many hot-heads and spoilt bastards. Strong and disciplined at the back and fast as fcuk on the break will be the order of the day for us tomorrow

I agree. If we had the right person it might work but we don't. I believe we are far better off just attacking and basically scoring more goals than they do.

I think that would work.

Is that you Kevin?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Agree with that basic premise. The same would happen to any single player tasked with that job

Rooney has license to roam way way too much left and right back and forward to give one player that job. There should be a game plan to deal with him but it is all about giving him not too much time on the ball for me. It's about pressing the ball hard in general though, whether it's him or someone else.

It is crucial that he is not afforded too much time or space. We give him that and he will hurt us
