The View from the Home End

Sorry this is so late, it’s due to not many comments, and I had a lot going on. For what it’s worth, these are the comments from the villans

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Jonathan Moss
Assistants: Harry Lennard, Eddie Smart
Fourth official: David Coote
VAR: Graham Scott
Assistant VAR: Adam Nunn

Team Selection

Nyland
Konsa Mings Hause
Guilbert Drinkwater Luiz Targett
Trez ElGhazi Grealish

And the rest…

They don't get any easier do they? Hopefully we can go into it with some more belief in our new system and as no-one including ourselves will be expecting anything other than a loss we might put up a bit of a fight.

Let’s pull off a shock. We are capable of getting a result.

I'm dreaming of a repeat of the 3-2 with Weimann scoring that iconic winner in front of the Holte from Guzan's kick…Unfortunately though I think the gap in quality between us and them is even greater now, as long as we don't completely roll over and come out of it with no suspensions or injuries I won't be too down.

Relegation threatened sides usually pull off some sort of result against an established top 6 side at some point in the season, or at least, that's what it seems to me. You could argue that our best chance was at home to Liverpool, which was on target until the last ten minutes of the game. So maybe we've already had our chance... Will cheer the boys on, but sense a dead rubber to be fair. Even more so with the tattered squad we have right now.

Like last night the longer the game goes on without conceding we have a chance of getting something from the game. We’ll have to park the bus and hit on the break and every single player has to be switched on for 90 minutes. Need a bit of a luck, some top saves and who knows. Either way it’s a free hit really. Brighton away is the big one…If they score first though I think it’s over.

0-3 if we’re lucky. Theyve clicked again recently after some indifferent form…Shame this comes straight after a good away win and a good away draw against 2nd in the league.

Lawro's also predicting 0-3. I think I can just about handle that as losing by three goals is only a mini-thrashing, as opposed to "a damn good thrashing" (a Basil Fawlty), which is defeat by more than three goals. It would be frustrating though considering they've already beaten us 3-0 this season, in the reverse fixture…I just hope that Charlie Nicholas isn't very good with predictions, he's gone for 0-5. Good grief. : (

They’ve been a bloody bogey team for us as long as I can remember; even before the petrol dollars.

Let’s just get this one out of the way and move on to the Brighton game.

I'm predicting 1-3, another bit of Grealish magic to score or assist.

Just play 8-2-0 and hit em on the break...easy.

What I've noticed in most of Cities games is if you can avoid conceding in the opening 20 you have some chance of keeping it to 3 max.

Ffs they are not the best team in this league, fuck em.

Man city are due to take a pasting sometime.

Let’s face it, I’ll cut my nuts off if we win this...12/1 to win.

Oh my, the day before we play the current champions and we have less than 2 pages of posts and non in 15 hours. People must have their head in the sand over this one…We just held Leicester who are above Citeh in the table in a massively important match in their own backyard…No reason we can't get something at home. We have looked so strong defensively with the new system, Vardy is an OK striker even by Citeh standards and we kept him out…t's a dangerous game for sure but we need more belief.

Sky should call it the battle of the false 9s.

Still fear this fixture more than Liverpool tbh, City for me are still the best team on paper. Thought we did well at the Etihad despite the 3-0 scoreline. We must do the same tomorrow and keep it tight, if we can get to HT at 0-0 we have a chance. Hopefully we can score first as it will make the game interesting and less nerve racking. I can handle a defeat here but if so I hope it’s respectable as a stuffing could dent confidence going into some really important league games. Important we take minimum 4 points from the next 2 after this.

Man City for me on their day are the best team in the league. Yes Liverpool look to be winning the league but that’s more about them being so clinical rather than playing the best football…We basically do a complete repeat of Wednesday and hope for a lot of luck. A respectable result and performance will be good for moral.

We gonna win this!

Pretty predictable really. We won't be good enough on the ball or work hard enough without it.

Free hit, off the back of a good performance in midweek which should give them some confidence going into the game…I wouldn't expect much from the game, but sometimes football can produce some unexpected results. Let's hope it's us this weekend.

Can't see anything other than a 0-3 loss here.

I usually treat my body like a temple. Last night I treated mine like a whorehouse above a liquor store next to a motherfucking Taco Bell.

Hopefully that is their manager’s team talk!

This comment made me Chuckle:
