Injuries To Key Players could Ruin Our Season

Postby CITYTILLIDIE11 » Tue Sep 08, 2009 9:12 pm

These injuries to two key players could have a significant impact on our season, I have heard rumours Tevezs knee is that swollen that it still has not been possible to see if he has ligament damage, if it is ligaments then that would suggests months on the side lines rather than weeks, if that’s not bad enough Robinho has aggravated a muscle strain he has been carrying for a while, and that wont right itself unless he has a lengthy lay off with complete rest, add to that RSC is no where near first team fitness, that leaves us with just Adebayor and Bellamy up front.

To be honest I am totally gutted, I honestly fancied our chances against the rags and the Arse,I cant see either of these two injured players taking part in the next two matches, and in my opinion losing two such influential players with out adequate back up might tell, I hope not, but if the results of these 2 games are reverses then I am sure Hughes will rightly point out injuries to two key players as being the difference

I was really looking forward to these 2 matches,

calm down, even without these 2 we can still put out an exceptionally strong squad who are more than capable of beating the rags and arse

we've beaten stronger rag teams with poorer city teams. anything can happen. chin up.
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

So without Robinho and Tevez, what would be everyone's first 11 against Arsenal?

I'd go for

-------------------------Given---------------------

Richards------Toure---------Lescott------Bridge---

-------------------------Zabaleta----------------------

--------------Ireland-------------Barry----------------

SWP------------------------------------------Weiss----

----------------------Adebayor--------------------------

And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."

Why are we dropping Craig? He's been in good form so far :-
Ireland pushing up into his more natural postition, barry in a classic deep CM role and de jong mopping up any strays
I'd even be tempted to play lescott at LB and give Neddy a start at CB, we're gonna need more defensive minded fullbacks out there imo

---------------------GIVEN

RICHARDS--TOURE--LESCOTT--BRIDGE

SWP-------IRELAND---BAZZA---PETROV

-------------ADE-------BELLERS

still a very strong team that.

ps this is what I think Hughes will do, personally, I'd have Zabba and Silvinho at full back
Oh and Bojinov instead of Bellers, oh, gone you say? shit.

I was optimistic of beating both with Tevez & Robbie in the team. Not given up hope now but this heavily damages our chances. If the full tilt version of Robbie plays then it's not quite so bad losing Tevez but he played v rags at home carrying an injury last year & may as well not have bothered. He could actually weaken us if he's not fully fit.

Tevez is the big loss for me though. He works the oppo so hard that even if he doesn't have a great game; others benefit & it's easier for a sub to come on & affect the game. Bellamy is the only natural replacement but that already leaves us without a striker on the bench. So much for having too many. Adebayor can still win both games for us if he carrys on in the same vein though.

Tbh, Bellamy is having more of an impact in the games he's played than Tevez is at the moment so Bellamy should definately start upfront with Ade.
