You sure you don't mean the 7000 seat stadium for the EDS on the land where the training complex is going to be?

Haha, I love that this is the way that these stories start, by a misunderstanding, and before you know it, it's all over the place that we're going to build a new 70000 seater stadium.

Would be slightly worried about my season card status if this was our new stadium ;-)

Image

Our proposal includes a new 7,000 capacity mini-stadium, which will host youth football matches to give our young players vital experience of playing in a competitive environment in front of a big crowd, as well as serving as a facility to house important community matches and live events that would benefit from a stadium environment.

Ha ha, that would be considered a modern marvel in the Swedish league.

The full site proposal which is now officially under public consultation

We want to build a unique facility that brings together a best in class Academy with new first team training facilities and all of the Club’s operations, right next to our stadium and in the heart of our community.

Our proposals would bring back in to use a brown field site of up to 80 acres, including:

A new Academy for up to 400 young players
Education Facilities for 200 young players
    Accommodation for 40 Academy players
1st team building with changing room, gym, refectory, injury and rehab centre, and accommodation
    12 youth development football pitches
    4 1st Team football pitches
A 7,000 capacity stadium for youth matches and community use
Office space for football club employees
    A dedicated media centre
    A MCFC Customer Service Centre
A new foot-bridge linking the centre to the Etihad Stadium and the rest of the Etihad Campus
Up to 5.5 acres of land dedicated to the construction of new community facilities.

Will the new stadium hold 7000 or 70000?

I think we should be told.
