Nasri: Vieira convinced me to join Manchester City
Image
Samir Nasri has revealed that Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira convinced him to join Manchester City.
Vieira, who won three Premier League titles and four FA Cups with Arsenal, is now a coach under Roberto Mancini at City.
And Nasri, who has arrived at Eastlands in a £24m deal declared that he is there to win the title with what Vieira has labelled ‘the club of the future’.
“[Patrick Vieira] made a big difference because he is a legend,” Nasri told MCFC TV.
“When a player like this who played for Arsenal, Inter Milan and Juventus tells you that Manchester City is the place to be because it is the club of the future, they want to win everything they have a big, big project, you have to listen.”

Definitely maybe United still have edge over City, says Noel Gallagher
Roberto Mancini may believe Manchester City are primed for a title challenge after their recent spending spree, but at least one high-profile fan fears they will remain in the shadow of their neighbours at Old Trafford.
Samir Nasri's arrival, hot on the heels of Sergio Aguero, has given City a squad to compete with the best, but Noel Gallagher can see Sir Alex Ferguson's influence at Manchester United once more proving decisive.
Lament: Gallagher fears it will be the same old tune this season
Speaking to Manchester's Key 103 radio, the Oasis guitarist said: 'I gotta say, United look strong and the one thing United will always have over us is Ferguson can manage that team across the season and he'll always manage to get the best out of those players.
'I think we've probably got better players than they have, but I think Ferguson will always be able to galvanise that team, no matter what.'
Gallagher singled out unsettled Carlos Tevez, rather than Aguero, as City's best hope of a title breakthrough.
'I'm not sure about Aguero,' he said. 'He might need a few games. He looked like a fish out of water.
'Tevez is going nowhere. He's been for sale since last January. Nobody's suddenly going to find 'oh hang on a minute where's that 50 mil, oh I've just found it in a safe, shall we buy Teves'. No he's not going anywhere.
'I don't want him to go, either, cos he'll do it on the pitch. As much as he says he misses his kids and blah blah blag and Manchester and the weather and all that nonsense, he is incapable of not giving 100% and if he does it on the pitch, I'm not bothered if he thinks his back garden's rubbish.
'I'm not bothered, it doesn't bother me if he misses his kids. If he's doing it on the pitch then he's still one of the greatest players we've got.'

City midfielder Weiss eyes move to Wigan after snubbing switch to Ukrainian side Kiev
Manchester City winger Vladimir Weiss has held talks with Wigan after stalling on a £3.5million move to Dynamo Kiev.
The Slovakian winger, 21, said: ‘Wigan and a Spanish club are immensely interested. My future will be resolved within hours. I want to leave City.’

the fact that Ted is enamored of those juicy assed mcfc workers is enough to end the conversation...there's loving City, and then there's "loving city"...big difference.

altho, in a pinch, i'm sure i would...but only if we could in Cookie's office. No lie.

Liverpool keen on Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy
Bellamy played for Liverpool in the 2006-07 season Liverpool are weighing up a move to bring Craig Bellamy back to Anfield, but only if Manchester City are willing to let him go on a free transfer.
Bellamy, 32, is under consideration by Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish as a back-up to his £58m strikeforce of Luiz Suarez and Andy Carroll.
The Welshman has been told he has no future under manager Roberto Mancini.
Bellamy, who has also recently been linked with Sunderland, is believed to be on a contract worth £95,000 a week.
Liverpool are willing to offer the much-travelled striker - who endured a single frustrating season at Anfield in 2006-2007 when he scored seven goals in 27 appearances - a lucrative deal but it is understood that any significant progress depends on City being willing to hand him a free transfer.

BELLAMY'S PREVIOUS CLUBS
1996-2000: Norwich
2000-01: Coventry
2001-05: Newcastle
2005-05: Celtic (loan)
2005-06: Blackburn
2006-07: Liverpool
2007-09: West Ham
2009-present: Man City
2010-11: Cardiff (loan)

Bellamy was an unused substitute in the 2007 Champions League final against AC Milan in Athens and was involved in an well-publicised incident when he attacked then team-mate Jon Arne Riise with a golf club on a team-bonding exercise before Liverpool met Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
Bellamy left Liverpool for West Ham United before enjoying early success under his former Wales boss Mark Hughes at Manchester City.
But he soon fell from favour under Mancini. and spent last season on loan at Cardiff before returning to Eastlands after the Welsh side failed to win promotion from the Championship.
Celtic - where he has also been on loan - have expressed their interest but Bellamy is understood to prefer a move that allows him to stay in the Premier League.

I fucking hope we're not going to give Bellamy to Liverpool after handing Adebayor to Spurs. Bellamy with Suarez suddenly gives them two dangerous quick forwards with a big aeriel unit to create space for them in between. At the moment they have to rely on proven shite like Downing but Bellamy would be an entirely different kettle of fish.

I don't understand what we're doing. Admittedly Spurs looked nowhere near top 4 standard v the rags & imo Liverpool were fairly piss poor at Arsenal but Adebayor & Bellamy at the top of their games are two of the most dangerous players in the league. Part of me kind of likes the idea that we don't see Spurs as a threat but I hope we've got that right.

It's obviously a gamble, but at least it's a calculated one I'd guess. You just know that both would be giving 100% to prove us, and Mancini, wrong.
