Great ones, can you merge this?

Great thread, it needs a poll

The FA Cup all day long, the 1-6 at OT was amazing but it didn't win us a cup and there's no saying we will win the league.

The FA Cup win. No doubt.

Both were great days and experiences that will live long in the memory but the FA Cup win was more significant. It got a monkey off our back and has had a huge impact on the mentality of the squad. It was a very important day in our history and one that will breed further success.

Also, the scenes of the players celebrating and showing off the trophy to the fans are just unbeatable. There's footage of a women crying her eyes out being comforted by her Dad (i presume) and it just sums up what it meant.

I liked them both.
The FA Cup is obviously more important, but the 6-1 did something that no trophy could do.

Winning a trophy is far more important than beating that shower. You get no medals for that even if it was sweet. Plus I was at the final and would not change that day for anything in the world.

Someone remind me what trophy we got for winning at OT?

Nuff said. Not even worthy of debate, as we have far bigger fish to fry these days than simply pitting one over on the new Duncan Edwards and his chums.

It has to be the FA Cup. I was there and it was my proudest moment as a City Fan!

It was amazing beating United 6-1 but nothing compares with winning a trophy.

the 1-6 for me although the f.a cup win was much more important, the 1-6 i believe was a signal that we are now the top dogs

Until we stick the Title in the cabient we arent the top dogs. If we dont win the title we are simply Newcastle circa 1995/6.

This is only supposed to be the poll thread... there is a perfectly good thread already running to discuss the choice

I cant believe you are all so wrong though

Sometimes a reality check is needed. Yes we look good, but only 11 games into a season good. Once we are 38 down the line and top, then we can all get giddy and anoint ourselves as top dogs and take the plaudits that come with it. Long way to go yet (sadly).

And even if we do go on to win the title this season, the FA Cup win is still so much better and more important than turning over Utd in a league game, fun though that was.

the fa cup win was more important, winning a cup was the start of things to come, the 1-6 was for bragging rights sweet as it is, but its still 3pts to our main goal.

This, although it was mighty pleasing to beat the rags, at the end of the day it was only 3 points, the same 3 points that we got against swansea, wigan, qpr etc

Dicky, welcome to the board, but taking 3 points of united is a whole different ball game come the end of the season
