Alex/Anelka

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Alex/Anelka

Do we need them, want them?

I think both could do a job for us, especially if Kolo(maybe) and obviously Tevez are off in the next window.

Illd take Alex an maybe Anelka too if he was willing too sit on the bench for most games or just play in the cup games.

That's the point though - they're not willing to do that, hence the transfer requests. We don't need them. Good players, but we need young eager hopefuls.

Eggsactly. No way they would sit on the bench but are they good enough for us now anyway?

Id have Anelka on loan for the rest of the season due to the Tevez situation. Unless we get one of the Napoli strikers in Jan.

I think Alex could give Lescott a run for his money.

Anelka may be happy sitting on the bench, the problem I think is he isn't even preferred off the bench.

I'd have them both a year ago. No way they'd even come now as benchwarmers, as twosips said, they put transfer request in for that very reason

But so could Kolo, he is playing decent football when he gets the opportunity to, given a run in the side I think he could help cull our conceding issues.

Exactly my thoughts. Their transfer request was mentioned on the radio on the way home from the game and straightaway I said to my lad that I'd have Anelka for the rest of the season as our 4th striker

no thanks, both way past their best and going in one direction. Anelka is a moody sulky bastard and we have enough of them already

Giving Anelka another payday after he treated us like shit leaving for Turkey, would be for me like signing Barton. Horrible package of sulking and brothers hanging around, Tevez 2.

But do we need them? Avb sent them to the reserves because of their disciplinary problems. We don't need this kind of players in our squad. I would prefere players that are "hungry" for trophies, rather than players that aren't affected if they win or lose a game.
They are off to Anzhi.

Well said the lads no to anelka. We wernt a big club was his words a few years ago. Now we got money he fancies us again. No fuckin chance. I personally couldn't even cheer when he scored on his last few games for us. Hate the twat . Called playing for us and a few other teams a punishment for mistakes in the past. We all grow up dreaming of playing for city and he calls it a punishment. Spoilt piece of shit. Few years in a factory or on a building site would do twats like him some good. Scum

I dont remember him saying that, have you got a link to the quote by any chance? one of my fave city players, shame it went sour at the end but he was one of the only world class players we had pre-Sheik. I would take him back on short term deal

don't remember that either mate?

wouldn't have him, or alex even on a short term deal coz i honestly don't think they'd add anything to the team right now. i expect us to add one or two "big" names in january.

oooooo, controversial!!

i still think torres is class when he's on form, but his injury record alone would put me off. and i don't want to see tevez play in the PL.
