would love to beat the rags w/ an obvious second team. But think it could blow back at us if we tried

Neither. I wouldn't play players who were not fit though. I'd pick my strongest team for both matches from what is available. What constitutes "available" is the issue, I suppose, isn't it?
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

Thing is..we are two scouse games away from a final against a Championship side
And who is to say we would make it to the FA Cup final this year?
It's a dilemma

rags for definite. you don't fuck about in a semi final, no matter who its against. still put a strong squad out, but rest Silva and a few others unless 100% needed.

more arsed about losing a semi over some second rate derby anyday. if it was the prem it'd be different, but we could beat the rags and get knocked out in the 4th round. we need silverwear, and a double this season would be sexy as fuck. wouldn't say no to a treble mind ;D

Strongest team against the Scousers - they're our real derby these days.
Heard last week that the Real fans had unveiled a banner after beating Athletico that said something like 'decent team needed to provide derby opposition'. Would love to see something like that after the final derby of the season. Rather premature but they'd all go the colour of Taggart's nose.

They're professionals. They should be able to play two games in a handful days as a one off. Full team for both games.

After being in the Army in th 80's for 10 yrs and my regiment full of Rags, I had to endure shit for such a long time. So now it's our turn to shit on them and take the win as much as we can and take the piss out of the scum, so full strength team for me. Same goes for those f@@king horrible Scouse 1 deluded w@@kers. Lets smash both of them into the ground!

The players will probably have had five days off between the Scouse league game and the Rags. Then another three beforre the first leg of the semi. It allows us to play something like a half decent team in all three games.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

This.
Another solution would be to go out and but the entire Crystal Palace team on Jan 1st and then play it against Utd in the Cup again! Just an idea.

League cup was least of the priorities, But we must never play a weakened team against the Rags, if we beat them again, they will be finished for this season.
