Tightest defence in the league

Postby Original Dub » Wed Jan 04, 2012 1:54 am

Never noticed amongst all the happiness of beating the cunts that we now also have the tightest defence as well as the sharpest attack.

Nice. Kompany has gotten back to his old self and clichy shouldn't be rested in an important game again.

Four clean sheets on the trot.

You won't see that statistic trotted out by the media very much because of course clean sheets only matter when we can't manage them.

Amen to that, I wondered why there was a cloud of dust down our left flank when it was so rainy, then realised it was Clichy busting a gut to get back into position after an attack broke down into a Scouse counter attack.

Really had a great game tonight. Kolarov at his best is a class above Clichy offensively but defesively he's not fit to lace Clichy's boots (or Ben Thatcher's for that matter, or next door's cat's if it had any ).

Media Bastards. If it was utd they would disregard Sunderland and credit them with four clean sheets.

It was three clean sheets on the bounce and then we let that shit one in at Sunderlland. JH has never kept 4 clean sheets on the bounce in the prem. We do seem to have become better in the last few weeks at the back and I think coinsides with JH being back to his very best.

never kept four in a row? interesting stat...i'd have thought either last season or at Birmingham that he'd done that if i was pressed to guess. We are tight at the back. Do you like us better tight at the back?

cheers

I noticed early in the commentary that our defence was described as "shaky". Whereas they wanked themselves off over Scouse's back line.
Hmmm?

The thing is with the Scouse, if the media start to dispell the myth that they have a solid back-line, what've they got left to praise Dalglish and Liverpool for?

Spunked a fortune and still no closer to the once so normal CL spot. I'm so glad that the powers that be dumped them like a ton of bricks when they were going through the Hicks & Gillett problem.

Richards was excellent, he only came forward when it was necessary to do so but when he did he got straight back to defend.

Lesson learnt recently.

think about it though..it was amazing that they only let us put 3 past them. It could have been 5 or 6 if we'd been allowed to really play up to our potential. It's all relative.

Richards is always excellent. Always.

How the fuck he is not an England starter I will never understand.

I agree but Downing did have a few opportunities early on in each half, and Micahs positioning for Downings one on one chance was poor, down to lack of concentration methinks. Hope the lad sharpens up for the Derby. Class still though.
