Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I spoke to a mate the today who was at a function with Brendon Rodgers last night and he seems to think that Skrtel is coming to us with AJ going the other way. What are people's thoughts? I quite fancy it.

Not for me. I'd take the 40 mil for AJ though.

well, perhaps 40 are a tad much, but definitely not less than 25, particularly from a bunch of tosser who paid 20 mil each for Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing...
always providing that we will either Muniain or Goetze in the other way round, which seems not very probable atm.
I still like AJ tho and I think he will have a major improvement next term if nobody shall come in.

yeah, very true beefy. I stand corrected on figures.
also it's about time that City, not anymore in the need to buy, will get some proper bargains.

I know AJ was a bit inconsistent at times last season but having watched the season review on DVD recently I was reminded just how good a finisher AJ is. If he has a dispute with the club then we/he should try and resolve because with more consistency he could be a top top player at City
He should have gone to the euros no doubt about it, I'd hate to see him go to another club like L'pool and be a success. Slightly concerned his lack of selection for England this summer might make him decide to leave City for more regualr football and to resurrect his international career - but I hope he stays

Missing out on the Euros Is gonna make AJ go one of two ways 1/ Sulk wanna move blaming Bob for lack of playing time , or 2/ get stuck in knuckle down and force his way into The England set up , I hope Its the 2nd I like him Think he can be a great player.

I really hate Scrotal but I can see why we would actually sign him. He is the kind of scrappy cunt who could clean up shit nicely next to Vinny or Lescott.
I really think AJ is a very very talented footballer though & I wish we could bring it out of him. Looking at that vid of all the season's goals & his stuff is right up there with the highest quality. Whether he's got a 'refuelling' problem or just doesn't quite fit what Bob wants, I don't know, but imo if he'd been a rag for the past few years he'd be 3rd name on the England teamsheet now after Rooney & Hart.
I think he's got something special that for whatever reason, isn't being brought out of him apart from in flashes.
Whether he ever will reach his potential I don't know but it will be a shitter if someone else brings it out & we can't.

I'm with the keep AJ crew. I also think he's an amazing talent, and City should be able to bring it out of him. Seems to be some sort of issue between him and Bob, wish they would sort it.

I think it's his right foot. Sort that and we've/he's got the world at his feet. There's probably a reason he's not at the Euro's, Bob's say so.

He's not fit enough and not consistent enough.
If he's happy for a role coming off the bench keep him, if not show him where the door is

It's the fact that when he starts he does fuck all. There's literally no other reason to it than that. It riles me, as I think he's got so much natural talent, and he's DEFINITELY a more rounded player than when he joined us. Capable of being more of a playmaker, when all he could originally do was dribble...however he just disappears for most of the game when he starts. When he comes on and the game is stretched and defences are tired he has a big impact, but he needs to learn to involve himself more when it's not so easy and we're trying to break down a fresh eleven.
