Samir Nasri's Best Game Yet?

Samir Nasri's Best Game Yet?

Postby King Kev » Mon Aug 20, 2012 6:42 am

I think yesterday was the best I have seen Samir play in a City shirt. With Silva offering very little it was left to Nasri to do the running and creative work in the middle of the park, and he certainly stepped up!

Fantastic game from him and thoroughly deserved his goal.

I think his previous best was probably the Tottenham game, but this shits on that one from a great height. He was so dogged throughout, deserved his goal(harder chance that silva's, silva's, clichy's, dzeko's, balo's), and should have had 3 assists if people weren't busy wondering what message their shirt had on it, rather than putting it in the back of the net.

I actually saw him put in a sliding tackle and win it!

He put a few in, very very impressive work rate from Samir. Towards the end he was organising the midfield leading from the front and running his socks off. Brilliant to watch.

Silva clearly needs a break and it looks like Nasri could be the one to step into those creative shoes. Silva looked liked he had carried on where he left off last season. I would give Milner a run out in place of Silva and let Nasri run the show like today.

Samir was fantastic yesterday - its as if him and silva have swapped boots because, conversely, I thought yesterday was silva's worst game in a city shirt

I don't think that's a coincedence.

When one plays badly or doesn't play at all, the other seems to play a lot better - especially true of Nasri.

Silva's had a rest, he is just a few weeks behind most of the rest of the squad, He went all the way in the Euro's, must have been physically and emotionally draining.

Imagine our first few pre season friendlies, everyone looked shit. It will take Silva 3 or 4 games to get back to his prime. Playing him is the only way to do that

That sequence where he kept the ball in and beat three players to pass to Dzeko in the box only for Edin to fluff his chance so should have ended in a goal simply for the highlight reel value. It was sweet.

His body strength throughout the game was impressive.

If Nasri starts to play at this level regularly I would have to re evaluate my opinion of him from 'very good' to 'fucking brilliant'.

Great game for Samir yesterday but I thought Yaya was even better. His turn in the build up to the equaliser was awesome.

really wish bob had praised nasri in his post match interview. think he's the type of player that needs the arm round the shoulder treatment.

For me his best games for us were the two he had with Spurs.

What i am really glad is that imho he was man of the match yesterday, but with Chelsea too. Great to finally see him.

It was better than his debut, which takes some doing.

Thats what the squad is for, we can't expect every player to play well every game. Just as long as someone does enough
