Swansea City first-team coach Alan Curtis says that Scott Sinclair could soon be on his way to Manchester City.

"He's not really interested in signing a new contract and I think Man City have made a bid," Curtis said. "So it's just a matter of time now before it happens and it's good for both parties."

Since our (surprising) interest in this lad became a reality, I've been doing the old Youtube routine with some vigour & I can really see what Bob is thinking. Especially looking at footage from his days at Chelsea, when he got minutes against proper teams in the Prem.

He is a bit like SWP used to be, but potentially with more goals & potentially gives us that fear factor of direct speed & a finish on the break. Something we lost when we mistakenly let Bellamy go.

Scott Sinclair seems tad too much like Aaron Lennon. But with domestic players rules in place we need to sign English players. So in that way it makes sense. At least he has got pace and will help stretch defenses off the bench.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Potentially much more likely to stick the ball in the net than Lennon though. And he's spent the last few seasons playing for a pass & move, posession football team, wheras Lennon plays for a lump it out wide, leg it, & lump it back in team.

Yeah, I think there's potential in him to be efective off the bench/give breather to some players in our brand of football. Especially coming from Swansea's system he should be able to grasp it. However some people sem to be expecting him to become starter and real difference maker and I just don't see that kind of potential in him.

But like I said, we need young English (well British to be precise) players who are able to contribute and he fits the bill especially with AJ wanting out so I'm not against the transfers.

Still not overly convinced by this. He is a decent player but thats about it imo. i certainly dont think he is as good as johnson.

Hopefully i'll be proved wrong, and the fee isnt too big.

He's the sort of player we've lacked since SWP was in his pomp - a winger to run at defenders and scare the shit out of them with their pace.

As long as it's made clear that he will be primarily an impact sub I'm happy, he'd do a job against the fodder we'll struggle against at various points throughout the season.

And he's homegrown.

Ok, i saw Sinclair a lot of times at Swansea, he is really good, has speed, good pace, things that we sometimes miss, but imho he isn't better than Johnson. His only good thing is that he has his mind in order, doesn't fancy clubs and drinking and wants to progress.

I think if we buy him, there is no way in the world we will go after Jovetic too.

I think AJ is better than most as a footballer, but Sinclair is a different kind of player & does give us another dimension.

Why do you think this would change things re Jovetic ? I see him as an alternative to/partner for Silva or Nasri.

I've no idea whether the stories linking us to him are genuine but I'm trying not to get very excited about the idea. When we were favourites for RVP & the media was suggesting Jovetic to Arsenal as a replacement, I felt like crying.

For me the thing about Sinclair is that if he plays a full 90 minutes he will be involved and look interested for 95% of the time rather than the 20% that AJ appears to be. I like Johnson but when he has been given a chance, sure he can do some great stuff but it's only fleeting. I've yet to see him dominate a game or be our best player in any match. Impact sub for the final 20mins at best.

Lennon and SWP type wingers are often very frustrating but can make the difference. Bellamy was fantastic on the wing.

I'd like to have Sinclair on the books to add some options and get in behind, abit like Milner was doing.

Well, from what i've seen Jovetic, he was used as a left winger or second striker. He loved to work in a trio when he had Gilardino and crackhead Mutu at Fiorentina. He can't be used here as a striker because we have four of a kind aces up front, so my best guess is that he will be used as a winger.

I don't think Bobby will go after both of them. In my mind, i was convinced if he would had brought Hazard in, Bobby wouldn''t had been interested in Sinclair or Jovetic and Aj will still have left.

I would be glad to see him here, but i not sure we are acting in order right now. It seem that we are buying players that where on the bottom of the list and that makes us a bit desperate.

Aguero was next on the list after Sanchez.

I see Jovetic as a direct replacement signing for Hazard & from what I saw of him in the past, one of few players with the same or better potential. Hazard in theory was an easier signing because his club wanted to sell & Jovetic's club don't. Then came his agent's greed & Chelsea. Jovetic would have to be to be prised out of Fiorentina & I expect very difficult to aquire, so it would have made perfect sense to go for Hazard.

Yes, But Aguero isn't the type of player as Sanchez is. Kun is far more better and he is a second striker. Sanchez is only a winger and if you ask me, he wasen't that great at Barcelona. He looked world class at Udinese and the South African WC, but he didn't delivered that good at Barca.

Fiorentina is a sinking ship. They couldn't keep Amauri, who is shit. They need money imho, so 20 mil will be enough.

That's the point I'm making. We wanted Sanchez, he went to Barca so we moved for Aguero, who wasn't top of the list but turned out to be a much better signing.

If it's true that we are in for Jovetic, the same thing could happen with signing him as opposed to signing Hazard; that we end up with a player who is better than our 1st choice.

Sinclair imo, is a direct replacement for AJ, not a replacement for Hazard.

He has his moments, but i trust Bobby. He knows who to bring to take us to the next level. If he wants Sinclair and Jovetic instead of AJ he can do that.

Well of course, there is the possibility that Jovetic is Marwood's target.

City were actually scouting Jovetic before Marwood & probably even Frank, arrived. No doubt followed him ever since.
