Positive thoughts for the season!

Postby Risby » Sun Aug 26, 2012 8:54 pm

After todays disappointing performance I can only imagine things will get better. We have had our bad game and now it's time to turn heads in a positive way.
We will sign more players and we will retain the title.
How do you think the season will go?

We were expected to beat Liverpool at Anfield where we haven't won since 2003, that was a decent result & we didn't play well so have to see it in that context - they played out of their skins & only got a draw. We will improve & hey if I was Martinez, De Rossi et al I'd hardly be worried about not getting a starting place in the City XI

We've had to contend with a disjointed pre-season where we've effectively been training two squads. Stupid bloody Europeans affecting our pre-season. ;-) I wouldn't expect things to come together until the Champions League games.

Rags have played much worse than that at places like Anfield on God knows how many occasions in the past & won titles with points to spare.

i thought it was arrogant to think that we might earn more points than last season...can't remember who told me that.

thinking...thinking....thinking...

on a positive note we can't throw out a more ramshackle linup and formation than today against a top side, or allegedly hoping to be/formerly top side.

Plus Clichy's wife cannot possible have another kid during the season, can she? Anyone on here an OB/GYN?

cheers

It was 1-1 last season. You should really try watching a game once in a while.

Positive thought is, we're playing like shit and still have 4 points from 2 games.

they scored from 2 set pieces (1 amazing fk from suarez, off a horrible decision to award a freekick). They only had 3 shots on target, i'm guessing this was their 2 goals + carrol's goal bound header.

We had more possession ... and more importantly for me, Silva came on and responded superbly to his poor showing last week ... looking hungry and eager. good movement and linkup with other midfield players.

we didn't have emphatically more possession i don't believe. Check the stats, but it looked pretty even over the course of the match i believe.

That's at least the third person to say that too. Im happy enough with the result i was convinced they were going to do us but not so much the performance but its nothing to get too concerned about it at this early stage.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

June at a push, they used to hand condoms out once you'd given birth as there is a possibility you can conceive pretty soon after, but she probably won't let him anywhere near her for a bit haha!

Put money on him scoring & revealing a t-shirt with a message to the bairn on it ;)

It could be the way to use Silva, just when we need him. Get him upto speed by playing half games but also allowing him plenty of rest at the same time.

Time flies, I honestly thought the 3-0 was last season. 89 points will have to be enough then :(

That was at home, last league win was probably Anelka's brace back in 2003?...we just don't win there.
