I honestly believe that our players might not like Mancini but that they respect him. I cant see them doing it deliberately. No player worth his boots wants to lose a football match.

Someone mentioned in the game thread our players never really publicly backing Mancini like other teams do at times ... maybe they are just fed up with his stubbornness and we all know his man-management and ability to motivate his players or even putting an arm around their shoulder is zero ... the only conclusion I can reach is something's definitely not right between the players (at least some of em) and Bob, and it has shown this season way too many times to be a one-off off-day.
Komps tweeted this right after the game (and too soon after the game I must add, he probably wouldn't even have taken off his shirt inside the dressing room):
@VincentKompany: Congratulations Wigan with their FA Cup victory. There are many reasons why they deserved the win more than we did.[\b]
Tell me I am over thinking this trying to justify the fuck up I witnessed today ...
I think some of the outters were doing a jig around their living rooms at the final whistle yesterda.MilnersJaw wrote:Seems all like bullshit so the op could create a new thread. The players might have been shit some games but that they purposely lost to get Mancini sacked is all bolloxs
Bluez wrote:You are over thinking it. I can't believe players would protest during a cup final. You protest during end of season insignificant league games
Risby wrote:There was no protest.
We just didn't do enough to win. Perhaps they thought they would win without really trying. Either way, just wasn't good enough.

I agree talk of a protest is nonsense but why why why did we go out in a cup final and perform like that? From the off it was all wrong. We played without energy the whole game and , bar the odd moment, made little or no impression on Wigan but it didn't seem to matter.
You could say the players should be all fired up for the game but equally you would expect the manager and the coaching staff to have them all fired up.
Did anyone see Lescott on Goals on Sunday. He had the chance to be very positive when asked about Mancini but he couldn't find a way to do it.He was trying not to be negative but struggled and left you with the feeling that all isn't well in the camp towards Mancini. He also s aid the game against Wigan at home recently was a tough game and then added but they changed their system for the final. The way he said it sounded like we had been taken by surprise at their change and didn't know how to handle it.
That's how I heard it anyway and it didn't sound positive at all.

I saw that too (Lescott on Goals on Sunday) ... he was looking down when they asked about if players like Mancini or prefer his style of management ... and then went on to say how he thinks sometimes the manager should talk to players. He also said manager talks to them through Kompany and when he has something to say to them, he tells Vinny who then conveys it to us ... really? That doesn't sound too good.
The 'mutiny' or 'protest' per say doesn't have to be a conscious effort on every one's part. Its simply that the manager has lost the players in his dressing room and they are all just not motivated to really follow a plan (was there even a plan?) ... That was ridiculous when he said oh, Wigan played 3 at the back at our home game last week so we prepared for that and this time well, they changed their shape ... hunh?? (Given Wigan's whole team cost £11m vs. Barry alone's cost was £12m), this was unacceptable explanation. Even if the manager didn't plan, the players of this caliber couldn't cope with that? There definitely was something wrong and you could tell by the whole Lescott appearance that he wasn't saying it all ...
