A must win today boys, go and stick it to them.

MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head

•Manchester City have not won a league game at Hull in seven attempts (D3, L4) since a 2-1 victory in their first ever visit in 1909.

•Hull's 2-0 defeat at the Etihad earlier this season is the only time in five previous Premier League meetings that they have failed to score.

Hull City

•Hull have won just one of their last seven Premier League home matches (W1, D2, L4).

•The Tigers have won only three of their last 15 league games (W3, D4, L8). Each of those three victories have come when they have kept a clean sheet.

•Half of Hull's eight league wins this season have come against clubs currently in the relegation zone.

•Steve Bruce's side have lost 13 of 14 matches in which the opposition have scored the opening goal this season, their 3-2 win at Newcastle in September being the exception.

•There have only been eight first-half goals in the last 10 league matches involving Hull.

•Nikica Jelavic has three goals in his last four league appearances but is yet to score a home goal for the Tigers.

Manchester City

•Manchester City have lost four of their last eight matches in all competitions (W3, D1).

•They have won four and lost two of their last six league games, the equal-best run of results over this period along with Chelsea.

•City are six points down on their tally after 26 games of their title-winning 2011-12 season.

•Manuel Pellegrini's side have won just three of eight matches (D2, L3) away to sides currently in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

•There have only been two goals in City's last three Premier League matches, this after 62 goals were scored in their previous 14 games (almost 4.5 per game).

I think it is fair to say we really really really really need 3 points from this tricky match today ............ the aftermath if we don't get 3 points doesn't bare thinking about . The pressure is now on !!!!!!

Looking at Chelsea's remaining fixtures there is still a good chance that they'll drop points (Arsenal, Liverpool et al) but at the same time we have some tough games ourselves so this one could be make or break for our season.

For me, this is a must win game. I can see Chelsea dropping points but I can't see us not dropping a few either. We need to bounce back from a dissapointing couple of weeks and show what were truly about. Twitchy bum time as they say.

At least we seen a bit of what we are all about against Barca, we need to get back to our wonderful winning ways.

Chelsea and City will drop points.

But if we drop any today, we leave ourselves an absolute mountain to climb. We need to cash in on these kind of games so that if we fuck up in any of the rags, Arse, Scouse etc games, we still have a chance of catching Chelsea.

If we are still mathematically in touch with them a few weeks from now, they will be under immense pressure.

Imagine being top of the league sitting pretty, seeing the finish in front of you, but fully expecting your rival is going to win the games in hand & take it from you & that if you slip up once, they can lose, & still take it from you ?

If we put them in that position, they will fuck up. I'm sure of it. I can see a situation where we don't even need to win the games in hand, but only if we come through this period now.

I'm not sure Ted, at this time of season it's all about the engine room and Chelsea by far have the larger squad in midfield. If Maureen rotates well then they've got an excellent chance of winning it. However, if they continue in the CL then that may well affect their league form.

Of course they've got an excellent chance of winning it, they are 9 points clear of us.

But imo, they won't win it if we are still in touch with them after the Liverpool game, in fact they may pretty much lose it that day.

For some reason I've been reflecting on our title winning season of two years ago this week, probably because the prem is now our only target.

I keep thinking back to the 6-1 at Carrow road, which was nearly a month later in the season than this, but (and here comes the straw clutching) came after disappointment the previous weekend (losing 1-0 at the Arse) but included two quick games inside a week (home to WBA and then away at Norwich).

Back then we won 4-0 at home to WBA and then of course followed up the early Saturday kick off by thrashing Norwich 6-1. So the parallels are that we lost the Sunday before (Wigan) played in midweek (though lost at Barca) and now have the early kick off on the Saturday (result tbc)

So will we win 6-1? I doubt it. Am I clutching at straws? Most probably, but I can't help my subconscious and I've had flashbacks all week of how Aguero and Tevez destroyed Norwich that day. How important would it be today for Negredo and Dzeko to share 5 goals between them at Hull, fuck that would be massive!!!!

I'd settle for 1-0 of course in a scrappy affair with an own goal from Curtis Davies, but you never know......

Ok just googled ... actually for Lawro shouldn't even have bothered with that as it's 0-2 (yet again) and Merson also thinks that we'll win (1-3 is what he predicts) ... if only it was that easy!

I'm concerned about our attack, with Sergio injured again and Negredo and Dzeko not scoring at all hardly this year where are the goals going to come from?

Our defense is weak, we all know that, but for a good portion of the season we were scoring so many it didn't matter. Now, well, we will have to see.

I think we missed out big time in January, we should have bought a defender to help out Kompany, Lescott and Pony tail are just not up for it.

I'm hoping we can scrape through and win the league or at least runners up, but I fear Liverpool and Arsenal are just too good this season.

Today will be a good test, a team we don't have much luck against and a chance to bounce back from the last 2 results, it's a BIG test for our players and one I'm nervous to watch at lunch time. Which City will turn up? It's anybody's guess.

Still, COME ON CITY!!!!!!

Funny how stats work. It states above that we haven't won at Hull since 1906 but what it fails to mention is that we have only played them twice at theirs in the PL. 2008 where we drew 0-0 and 2010 when we lost 2-1.

In the PL we've W2, D2, L1. About time we put this little ghost to bed.

I have to say im a bit of a nervous wreck about todays game, absolutely every game is a must win now.

I hope to god one of our forwards finally rediscovers goal scoring form.

Here's hoping whoever partners Kompany today doesn't drop another bollock on us.

I was hoping for Milner instead of Garcia but am pleased he has not partnered the beast with Dzeko. As for daft Martin, I have resigned myself to knowing our manager WILL pick him no matter what.
