According to reports at the time that he moved there they would pay around £7-£7.5million if he triggered the clause.

Transfermarkt have him valued at £11.4M, so i am hoping a bit more than £7M, yes i know they know he is excess to requirements here, but that shouldn't stop them paying a fair price, it's like we are desperate for the cash this minute.

I can only assume that he is doing OK at Schalke for them to tie this up now rather than waiting to the summer when others could have come in at market price, or am i talking bollocks.

They play 3 at the back, which suits him better & was imo probably the long term plan & why he, Savic, Rodwell, Maicon, Kolarov & Javi Garcia & possibly even Sinclair, were signed.

Look at the bright side. He's not coming back thank fuck. Good luck to him though ; he seems a nice enough lad and I'm glad he's doing well somewhere else.

12 million euros was mentioned as the clause in one of the articles. Tbh with the current exchange rate that aint much more - £8.4M

I seem to remember something about a £2.5m loan fee. Maybe they are paying £10m less the £2.5m loan fee. His sudden demise at City was a bit odd.

When he started against Real instead of Lescott I thought, like many, 'What the fuck', but he went onto do a decent job, for someone so young. Mancini fucked a few of our players over but Nasti was not one of them.

How old is he now, 21 or something?

He is 22 this month apparently. Seems to have settled in well in the German league like he did in England.

I'm glad for the lad - I hope he will go on to have a great career.
I was never his biggest fan, but I never quite got why the Count put him in the ice box the way he did after this pre-season. he's still a young lad and surely he has better potential than Boyata? Perhaps they were looking at resell value and realised that Boyata would bring us next to naught?

Boyata also has HG status.

I'm not gonna miss Nastasic but I too would like to know why Pelle left him in the cold

Ah, forgot about the HG bullshit!

To be honest, I think any defender - no matter how good - will be made to look like a tit from time to time with our defensive set-up. We want to play an almost naively attacking football, which leaves especially the centre backs ridiculously exposed. When our attack is working, that's fine. We might have the odd game where we can't score against a team that parks the bus, but generally we always score more than the opponents. But when the attack isn't working as well as it should - like this season - we're struggling.

After 28 games last season we had conceded the exact same amount of goals as this season - 27. The difference is that we had scored 15 more by this time last year.
