Mancini losing the dressing room

Postby Pretty Boy Lee » Sat Dec 17, 2016 3:24 am

Just been reading Joey Barton's book, good read by the way, and he claims on the famous day when we won the title Roberto was going nuts on the touch line.

Apparently he was screaming "you're letting me down" over and over. Couple this with what we've heard about him yelling at lescott to stay back and it makes Barton's claim that the cracks probably started that day make a bit more sense. Do you lot think there's anything to the theory that his problems began or at least grew that day?

Surprised you're so closed on the case. I will read almost anyone's biography, bar Scum legends. This one is in the upper half of the football ones I've read. Most of the hated players make for better reads.

A) They WERE letting Mancini and supporters down. 2-1 down at home against absolute horseshit bad QPR. Do you thinkmthere was someone on then pitch who was thinking "gaffers wrong to shout at us because we arw trying our best and we will anyway get participation medal"?

B) I have no idea what is that Lescott thing but by the sound of it he tells players what to do and that's kind of what managers are supposed to do.

C) what the fuck would Barton know about cracks in our dressing room?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

How the fuck can the cracks have been starting then when we went on to win the league and all the players were creaming their knickers over Mancini after the match eg. throwing him in the air as a group as per every successful team do to their manager when they win something.

He didn't lose the dressing room. That's a massive massive myth. Three or four players conspired against him and they were his downfall. We all know which players they were (I don't actually believe any of them are here now - 1 is on loan the others have been sold).

But that 'lost the dressing room' bollocks is a myth. It was a few players that thought they were bigger than the club and that they could run the show.

Fuck the chairman for letting it happen.

It was well known that Dzeko had meetings with the chairman behind Mancini's back about Mancini himself. Nasri was one. Hart tried to get the players to turn against Bob. Tevez obviously.

So Yaya was involved too? The same Yaya that Mancini desperately tried to sign for Inter.

Also found it odd at the time of Hart going to Torino what with Lombardo there, he'd have witnessed first hand this conspiring you'd think and then there's the fact that Mihailovic is a good friend of Mancini's, you'd think Bob would warn him that Joe's a troublemaker.

So we wanted to sell, Inter wanted to buy and somehow he's still here?

On an unrelated matter, hope you got your letter in to Santa Claus.

Why do you think that is?

I didn't say he was wrong, what joey said was he was a mess and lost a bit of respect with his outburst.

As for the lescott thing it was a matter of keeping players back when we were going home with nothing in a do or die situation. I think you knew that tho and took the road you did in replying.

As for cracks in the dressing room, nothing other than the fact he had a few on speed dial. That part comes from what we saw actually happen. It's pretty well known he lost them the next season, the discussion is whether this event was the start of it or not.

Desperately tried to sign for Inter. A few quotes about how good a player Yaya is means he desperately tried to sign him?

Are you saying that there were no players against Mancini in the end, or that they all were?

It's hardly news that Mancini had lost it on the touchline in that QPR game it ws plain for all to see from the tv coverage. His head was about to explode with rage and his language was a blue as the shirts.

Re losing the dressing room I think the argument that it was only a few and then naming 4 or 5 tends to actually lose the argument especially if those names were such key players. He definitely lost the dressing room.

The players lost my respect after Wigan, pretty sure if the Spafia had nailed the players who were crying to them, we would have retained the League at least once, we handed the league to the Scum, and the FA Cup to Wigan IMHO.

Mancini, who had four years in charge at City and was sacked as Inter boss this summer, told Corriere dello Sport : “Yaya was always one of my goals.

"We had almost sealed his purchase with President Erick Thohir a year ago, then he preferred not to betray Manchester City, where I took him."

I'm sure there was a feeling of discontent with Mancini, from who exactly is just pure guesswork.
