Aye. In a few weeks' time we'll have another one.

Question...or...Talisman?...I think Silva will become the brains before the season's out.

Talisman. Any even half-decent striker would love to play in the same team as Silva. I think he has already become the Brains (to Tevez's Thunderbird 5).

Agreed Tokyo....If the club have known about this for some time, as seems likely, I suspect work has already been ongoingto replace him with Thunderbird 6.
Maybe the chasing of Torres, Dzeko and others last summer and the reported determination of Macini/Marwood to buy another major class striker was not about squad building but Tevez replacement.

And we'll need good cover for Silva which we haven't got. We need to use Tevez to sort a forward and a creative mid who are capable of playing in Mancini's style...

cheers

Whilst I agree with you Doomie and the evidence of his goals scored would seem to prove your point, I have always noted that there is a downside to Tevez's way of playing.
He can't be in 2 places at once and often I note; he is playing the "fetch me, carry me" game too deep to be effective further up the field where he could do more damage.
No Tevez coming back may seem to weaken us but it also frees the space for the more (football intelligent) Silva to fill.

I posted this thought previously (about the WHU game) and I still believe that Tevez often occupies the space that would be better utilised by a rampaging YaYa, a cutting in Johnson or a jinky Silva, leaving 2 strikers still ahead to pull defenders apart.

With someone like Andy Carroll leading the line we would win by a street.

Haven't seen that much of him but from what I have seen he reminds me of Mark Hateley.
