Annoyed but not depressed yet. We can still compete for that top 3 spot despite it not being in our own hands for the first time this season.

I will be getting depressed if I see any more of those types of "performances" though. It's been a long, long time since I've seen all the team play so poorly.

Chelsea have 2 games in hand and are 5 points behind us so technically third is theirs to lose not ours.

Oh I see, on that technicality you're right. However as we've got to play them it's not like we have to rely on others.

Kiev away is a nightmare game for virgin teams like us.Fuck Aris this was top draw oposition counter attacking specialists, They are fresher after a winter break, with the nouse to win games and adapt better than us, yes we have a manager who like Bobby Robson 1990 needs players to tell him the tactics are not for us, until we all chill how the fuck are we gonna get anywhere this is MCFC nothing is ever fucking easy...................Nothing. Deal with it get there on Sunday and support, they aint fuck all else you me or Roberto can do now.

Funny ain't it Hazy 2...(Any relation to the original hazy?)...but during that game, I thought, this Dinamo team look as though they are a decent outfit. Years of European Cup and Champions League experience, until recently, the perennial league winners...and they certainly knew their way around the field. They were confident about their business and a good measure of our progress.
We have a number of weaknesses that the likes of Wigan and Wolves will never explore. A good learning evening in a challenging place. Just what we needed.
Nobody else seems to have given them much credit...or have I missed it?

I did, but kept away from the conversations. I firmly believe that this is the kind of team we'll come up against in the playoffs next year if we finish 4th. That's why, for me, we'll be playing Europa League next year again if we don't finish third. I say it all the time, but nobody seems to listen or comment.

Cheers Andrew, I thought I was alone in this mate.
I view it as a good thing. We need these lessons at this stage of our development to learn from and to show us the way forward.
I think we'll learn quickily. Mancini ain't the mug that some would have us believe and neither are the players. They will learn and become stronger.

Unlike you, I don't view City losing a match as a 'good thing' at all (revenge for the 2nd vs 3rd thread the other day ;) ). But I do view it as a part of the learning curve. Whereas someone like Liverpool, Boro and Fulham may be able to overcome teams like this, but never seriously challenge for the PL title, we're mounting a challenge on all fronts. Not even Chelsea have managed that yet. However, if we have difficulties against Reading, and Mancini brings out excuses, I may do bad things to his pets.

Kiev could be as good as Barca or as poor as Stockport County. Everyone can have their opinion on that & no doubt get differing answers.

The question is; irrespective of how well Kiev did or didn't play, were we any good ?

Imo anyone who gives the answer 'yes' to that question must have been more fucking pissed watching the game. than I am now & I'm fucking rat arsed.

John, they deserve credit but lets have a bit of perspective here.

They have won 2 trophies in a 2 team league in the last 4 seasons. They qualified for Europe for the last 20 seasons since Kiev split from Russia almost by default of the fact that it has largely been a 1 team league until Shakhtar got their act together in recent years. They have won one more trophy in Europe than Man City, and the last win was just as much in the dim and distant past as our European win.

So yes, they play in Europe, but it is a myth that they have European "pedigree" - that would be like saying Leeds would beat us in Europe because they once got to a CL semi final, or it was ok for Forest to beat us in the cup the other year because they won the European Cup twice 2 decades ago.

They most likely just have the "habit" of winning, which is clearly something we lack, because from what I saw they were just an organised side who play efficiently and have a smattering of decent players. The reality is, aside from a winning mentality, Kiev are not much different in quality to the Wigan side we struggled like fuck to beat.

Maybe we should just stop making excuses for the manager and the players

For me they are 2nd tier of top class European teams hence dropping down from the real thing, they had the ability to win each half which is what Barca and the like do until March. the top tier teams are where they plan to be when it matters, with us it is Shit or Bust for fans and media, when if we get Champs league Thursday is what we face class, hardened pros?/players not house hold names but top quality footballers. In the same vein look at Barca V Arsenal total domination and so one sided it suggests MCFC are miles away at present. Yes John it is me, Hiya.

D'yer know Antti Mate...I really am so pissed off with what is happening around our club at the moment. It all seems so fucking negative and depressing.
In 1962, I sat with my Dad at the back of the Main Stand at Maine Road for the City v Liverpool game. I'd been to watch City loads of time by then so I wasn't a novice. It was night game, the 1st home game of the season. We'd lost 1-8 at Molineux the previous Saturday, so most of the City fans were well down in the mouth. Liverpool had just been promoted and their fans were buzzing. They were alive and vital, there was this massive positive energy that seemed to emanate from them. All singing, all dancing and above all else...all smiling. The atmosphere they created that night at Maine Road was absolutely awesome, a tidal wave of positivity. It was the very start Liverpool's journey. A journey that eventually took them to the top, via Wembley, through Europe and gave them almost a stranglehold over the domestic league for many years...Shankly put them on the pitch and the fans lifted them above it.

Now, City are on a similar journey. we are making our way from mid table obscurity and attempting at some point in the near future to match the likes of the rags, Chelsea, Arsenal, the Milans, Barca, Madrid and Bayern, in the very elite of World football. We are sat 4th in the League and in the semi-final of the FA Cup. Not been in this position for fuckin years and years...Do we sing, dance and smile?...

No...do we fuck...we come on here and whinge like ungrateful spoilt kids. we complain more than an athritic graddad trying to pick his teeth off the floor. We scream and bawl like a bunch of babies waiting for a feed.....FUCK ME, YOU LOT FUCKING DEPRESS ME SOMETIMES.

Antti Mate...pass me the valium....Cheers.
