Their defence looked a lot better without him. I think he may struggle to get back in at CB unless they get injuries themselves.

These players need at least half a season to catch up on fitness alone. This is very important when you're assessing his pace, leap, strength & the like.
Even Dzeko, who came from the Bundesliga looked crap last season. He now scores a goal every 58 minutes.
Keep in mind, Dzeko was 24 years old when he arrived, top-scorer 09/10, won the league & was voted PPOTY 08/09 in Germany.
Savic is 20 years old, had two seasons in Serbia & a handful of caps for Montenegro before arriving.
I'm not saying that I see massive talent in him, but I wouldn't write him off yet, even as a Premier League centre back.

Agreed, he has mainly being playing at right back for them though. Straight choice mate Savic or Boyata, who would you say has better potential?

Boyata by a long way at CB but I'm yet to be convinced by him. Most of Boyata's mistakes are in the head though; he has the build & the pace rather than Savic's which seem to be a mixture of naivity & a lack of the required abilities to be a centre half.

Ted, this might be akin to revisiting an old chestnut, but if Bobby Manc did start playing with three centre backs, do you think Savic might shine a litle more in such a formation, especially bringing the ball out of defence ??

In fact Id swap him for number 3 on this jumping contest.

Just a theory but perhaps he was one of the main antagonists when Mancini got Hughes' job.
His performance on Soccer AM and his association with that Kia cunt are a bit too much of a coincidence for me.
