Nah it was all down to not getting the trfrs right in the summer

I am sat here this morning feel a bit heartbroken about what has gone on but know that the feeling will pass in a few days. God its not like I am not used to the rags wining leagues season in and season out.

On the City front we have had too many keys players fall well below the high standard that they set last year. All you have to do is look the PFA awards to see that. We haven’t scored enough goals and yet again have failed to have a plan B when we are in a bit of a scrap or playing one of our bogey teams, Everton and Sunderland. We have suffered badly with injuries where as we were relatively injury free the year before.

I am also of the opinion that we have a suffered a huge hangover from how we won the league both fans and players alike. I can’t really recall a rocking Eithad this season. It’s been a very flat place to be but not helped by how we have played.

I hope that the players are hurting like I am, seeing Zabba this morning made me think at least he was, he did look gutted. I feel quite excited about next season and think that we will spend big. I cant wait for us to get started again and hope that the players feel the same way. They owe us big time after the shambles of our title defence this season.

Considering we've been relegated as Champions previously, I suppose it's not been outlet worst defence.

What a haul for the cockney keep-net!

1. You got to Wembley by winning the 6th round, not by beating Chelsea, and
a. Appear to have missed the fact that we also beat them and Stoke, hence the sarcasm, and
b. All the other teams you had to beat were probably assembled for the price you pay weekly in wages for the 3 Argies in your team.

So, no sale, sorry. Yes, that was a great performance against Chelsea, one that even the neutrals among us relished - come to think about it, is anyone truly 'neutral' when the rent boys are playing? But this is now the price that you lot pay. Spend big - create similarly proportioned expectations amongst not just your own, but also every one else.

2. On a more sensible tip, I honestly thought that the team would have been stung into a rearguard action after the embarrassment of going out of all European competition before Christmas. The chance of a single domestic cup seems to me to be the only possible response that the manager can now cling to.

Appreciably, Kompany and Hart can't be world-beaters every season, but you've just let this season pass you by - at least for large chunks of it. And I find that odd, to be honest. It was almost as if you rested on your laurels.

I reckon personally these last games are Mancini's swansong.

And it went in."

It would but it shouldn't excuse the fuck ups.

An honest break down for me would look like this.

League cup - disaster, beaten at home by the worst villa side of my lifetime who travel like shit.

FA cup - done well, but up until the semi we had the cushiest run I remember us getting. If we win it's still a major trophy and I'm very grateful.

CL - disaster again. The group hurt again, but to finish bottom and not even register a win with our squad is shit. Ajax and Dortmund don't have squads like us and both outplayed, out thought and out fought us. Shocking attempt.

League - 2nd beats relegation. It beats championship, league 1, 2 or wherever Pompey are heading next. For some that's enough to be happy, for me we've not been in with a shot for a few months and far too often that's been down to lack of fight or our management not reacting quick enough to problems during a game. Very disappointing for me. There's 5 games left and the trophy is gone, literally.

Let's be honest, the season for many has been absolutely shite and not come up to expectations. However, from my point of view, which I stated after the window closed, was that we wouldn't win a bean, nothing, nada. That's why my expectations haven't been unduly killed off.

And, FFS, 2nd beats relegation, beats being in league 1 or 2, the Pompey shit. Fucking grow some and stop being a fucking drama queen. It's fucking pathetic, all just to make a point.

We're currently 2nd in the league, not 5th chasing for a place, not 20th heading for relegation, not in the Championship or anything other. We are 2nd, do you understand that?

PS. There's too many City fans who are too busy touching their front bums because an armchair Rag has had a go. Again, fucking grow some and look forward to what will come.

There's been some grit and some great, tbh, mate.

But, its important to not get carried away. Yes, we've done well in a certain sector of the transfer/loans market, but the squad is thin in more than one obvious place.

Beating Chelsea 3-1 was undoubtedly a highlight and we're one of the few teams to have also given Man U a game (or two). Two 2-2's and the same number of 1-0 defeats isn't too shabby for the last promoted team.

I think in truth that a good half of the teams in the division are much of a muchness, distinguished in the main by either an emblematic player (Michu, Lambert, Carroll/Diame) or an innovative-ish coach. On that point, Martinez, wherever his team end up in the league, will give you a game next season.

His team, despite the recent result, demonstrate a low for us. Two insipid displays, one in a cup we sadly don't seem to care about, were the cheese to the chalk of beating Chelsea, drawing at Anfield and beating WBA 3-1.

I can't however say that I am at all happy about our forthcoming move. Allardyce is a mixed bag, in that he's clearly a solid, dependable survivor, but hardly an emblem of what the old school support thinks represents the club that well....And the same goes for the owners we have.

We're safe this season, but what worries me is that there are a good handful of teams that had a poor one this season, but may survive and improve faster than us.

Walmai, like most I have a soft spot for the 'appy 'ammers. I think you'll lose alot when you move to the new stadium - a shame really.

As for BFS, I have some respect for him, not much, but he's a solid manager who'll do ok for you. One of the things many forget about his Bolton teams was that, roughouse though they could be, they had Djorkieff, Jay Jay Ococha and Ivan Campo at various times. At the end of their careers, but all of them class acts in their own way. He doesn't seem to have signed any similar players yet, but he might. Maybe you'll get Messi when he's 35.

Are you realistic? I have a Hammer who works with me who really slated BFS on his appointment, playing the old card about longball. Needless to say he's changed his mind and understands the values of someone like the manager you have now.

What I'd ask is, where do you think you should be and is BFS not good enough for your club? BFS brought you back up and has given you the platform to move on but were you one of those advocating his dismissal before he even started?

I'll answer the 3rd question first: NO. What would the point be in actually vocalising a wish for his to be dismissed before a ball had been kicked? At that time, I wasn't massively happy it was him in particular, but, by the same token, he represented a much better appointment than that idiot Avram Grant....or indeed, when we clearly needed experience, rookie Gianfranco Zola.

That probably also answers the second question. He's clearly good enough for the club and was on the day he was hired. That doesn't erase some of the things I didn't really like about him, but personal preferences are different from the question of being 'good enough'.

The first question is much the hardest to answer. I think we should be in the Prem, frankly, but not that we have any divine right to be there. I also think we should be staying in The Boleyn Ground and not moving to the Olympic Stadium, hence my - in the main at least - watching this season from afar and no longer having a season ticket. But finally, which brings us back to some of the things I am not really too keen about, both coach and owners appear to have little if any interest in the cup competitions, despite it being plain that you don't really need to be in the top 4 to be competing in them.

Look at the way we have crashed out of both at the first hurdle in two consecutive seasons, the way we ridiculously took a tiny allocation after almost beating Man United in the 3rd round, because the replay was on TV and the way the club has restricted our away allocations all season, for instance leading to a small one at yours this weekend and our having only one tier in that joke of a ground Loftus Road.

One of the most important things about him is his reputation amongst some - not all - of the others in the top tier. I think that is important in terms of the odd loan etc. He's also done reasonably well in the short-term deals and other areas of the transfer market that yield players for the odd season or two.

Our problem is that the two game-changers we have are likely to both be leaving in the summer. I don't know if its going to be too easy replacing Diame and Carroll - as much as he's a bit of a thug - has also come into some form.

The Arsenalification of the club will start once we move to Stratford. We still won't win anything, but half our crowd will be tourists, or the kind of fan that only starts coming once (s)he can go shopping at Westfield before the game.

I knew you'd come back with that, which is a bit disingenuous. Everyone knows that 'getting to Wembley' has always meant making it to the final.

In any case, we got to Wembley and beat Chelsea. Had we lost, you could say we lost to the one top team we faced on our run to the final. But we won.

OK - fair point (as much as 'getting to Wembley', however and whatever for, represents a real achievement for West Ham).

Answer me this question, that I asked my City mate as we watched you beat Chels.

If you win the FA Cup and come 2nd, but
They win Europa and come 3rd

Who were the season's second best team?

I ask that from the perspective of it still sinking in that Man United seem to have won the title so easily. I can see the strengths of your team from a mile off, but can't really understand why the players didn't really perform in any consistent fashion.

Additionally, with the right appointment in the summer, I can see Chelsea take a few strides further in terms of the league next season: they've got right the forward options, just need to tighten up defence a few notches. That's not a prospect that cheers me in the least, I should add.
