It does seem there is more food for more thought for those who have simply accepted without question.

Malaga coach Pellegrini, whose only trophy in European management was the Intertoto Cup with Villarreal in 2004, is expected to be confirmed as Roberto Mancini’s successor at the Etihad Stadium on Monday.
But the Chilean faces high expectation at City following Al-Mubarak’s insistence that the club is now in a position to challenge for domestic and European success.
With City pursuing deals for Malaga playmaker Isco, Sevilla winger Jesus Navas and Napoli forward Edinson Cavani, Al-Mubarak admits that Mancini’s successor will be expected to deliver major honours next season after ending the last campaign empty-handed.
“The target now is to win every competition that we play in,” Al-Mubarak told City’s club website. “That is the target, quite simply.
“It is a high ambition, but we have the organisation and the squad to get us there.
“Obviously, you would get the same answer from most people, but I am saying it with confidence.
“We have won the Premier League before, we know what it takes to win it and we will win it again. We have won the FA cup before and we can do that again.
“In Europe, we have not been as successful in the Champions League and there is no doubt we have a lot of improvement to make there.
“But with the squad, the organisation, the manager coming in and the new players we will sign, we will have a strong team to compete in the Champions League.
“This club is about winning championships. It is why Sheikh Mansour is here, it is why I am here and it is why the players are here.
“We want a successful club that will compete, year on year, in every competition that we play in.”
The decision to dismiss Mancini following the FA Cup Final defeat against Wigan was met with a lukewarm response by the club’s supporters, many of whom continued to chant the Italian’s name following his departure.
But Al-Mubarak insists that the time had come for Mancini to go and that his replacement will be expected to hit the ground running immediately.
“We all felt it was time for a change,” Al-Mubarak said. “Roberto did a great job for the club, winning the FA Cup and Premier League, and everybody should be deeply appreciative of that.
“But on reflection, I have mixed feelings about last season. There were ups and downs, to say the least.
“We finished second in the Premier League. That’s not great, but it is an achievement. We finished second in the FA Cup, again not great, but it’s good. In the Champions League, I was disappointed with our performance.
“After winning the Premier League, the expectation was to achieve more and move forward. That did not happen, so we must now focus on getting back on track because the club is designed to win championships.
“We will make new signings, absolutely, and the new manager, from day one, has a responsibility to prepare the team for next season to win every competition we play in.
“That is our level now and it is what we have to strive for.”
Al-Mubarak, who confirmed City’s determination to increase the capacity of the Etihad and launch a women’s team, revealed that Pablo Zabaleta and Micah Richards will soon be handed new contracts.
“Zabaleta and Micah are coming soon,” Al-Mubarak said. “They are core members of our team, just like those who have already signed new deals – Yaya Toure, David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Gael Clichy.”

Does this mean that the board will sack Pellegrini if we don't win all 4 competitions next year?

It means Ogden is a reporter and thus will twist the truth to give the kind of headline/story papers like and he should be sacked for doing so.

Just stated about this in the Khaldoun thread. This particular "reporter" is a known United fan, who always takes a negative slant on City and Ive yet to see him write anything positive about us in the past 4 years.
Maybe we should take a leaf out of his beloved Ferguson's book and ban this utter c**t from the club. Double it up by making sure Henry Winter from the same paper, who is always balanced and fair, gets excellent treatment and is told is welcome at any time.
