You will be gutted to know that Garcia is injured.

What's your take on this as a keeper if he is dropped ?

Irrespective of whether he deserves it or not, do you think dropping him could do more harm than good or would you expect him to come back stronger ?

I honesty don't know. If that was me I would be gutted but I would get my head down and work hard, extra training ect. Is he someone who will allow his ego to get in front of him though and have a sulk? Surely he will want to prove people wrong though and show us all that it's a blip. I think he needs some time out time and I agree with the decision to drop him. No one player can be untouchable.

In regard to Panti, I like him. Not very spectacular but does it nice and easy. We use the word clean at lot when we train "keep it clean" is always shouted at us and that's what Panti does. He deserves his chance.

Cheers.

Yeah it's not fair on Pants if he doesn't get a game imo. If a player keeps training & turning in close to perfect performances when selected, but his main competitor is dropping bollocks every week & getting picked, it just sends a message to every squad player that they are wasting their time.

I just hope Joe reacts to this positively & comes back with more confidence rather than less.

No one knows till the teams get announced. Pellers said yesterday we'll know on the day. Don't think city are that daft to let this out till today when everyone will know at the same time. For now surly just speculation Hart has been dropped 50 /50 chance they have what there saying correct.

Personally as much as I like Hart and the saves he's done to get ua three points in the past he needs a rocket up his arse. If that means Panti starts and joe addresses what evers going on for him, then so be it.

My perception of Joe ,having seen a lot of him in training,is that he will not go into a sulk.He is a driven professional who should be and will be hurt by being dropped but he will wish Pants and the team good luck and carry on working hard (harder) to put the blips behind him and get his place back.

He will be back and probably all the stronger for this.

That's good to know doug.

I'm all for him getting dropped right now but one or two in this thread should be ashamed of themselves.

Hoping he is dropped for five games and then comes back and fucks up again? Wtf?

I hope he comes back as the world class keeper I think he can be.

Tbh Doug, my main concern is that he loses confidence rather than an attitude problem. I don't buy into the idea that his problems stem from bad attitude. He has always been poor at stuff like kicking (one of the reasons Hughes sent him out on loan imo) & imo, he was very nervous when he first went to Birmingham & initially made a lot of really bad decisions. I didn't think he would make it as a top keeper but then suddenly he started getting it right.

To me, he has gone back a little bit to how he was at that time & I see the 'over confidence' 'attitude' stuff as bravado to cover it up, as much in his own mind as anything.

I hope he's as 'cocky' as ever when he comes back.

That's probably spot on re the bravado stuff.Dropping him can't be great for his confidence but I really do think he has thew strength of character to get through it and come back stronger.

It will be a good test of character, it happens to all players and Joe just needs to get back to basics and let his head have a break and get straight again, like the Martinez quote mentions it will take him out of the limelight and in compounded, stressful situations you don't think straight and have to remove yourself to seclusion even just for a short time. Its also a test of how Pellers and the coaching team approach it too - he should come out of this a better keeper if they do the right things and he has the strength to push through it.

My best solutions to major issues at 4am come when i sit in the shite house for 10 mins ;-)

The manner of the win today and the way which Panti wasn't troubled was reason i'd have been happy with Hart in. He would've improved confidence and what did we really learn about Panti?

Does a good impression of a third goalpost.

Just putting the thought out there but do you not think maybe the team performed as we did because Hart was left out?

With his blunders the rest of the team must have been pissed off with him, seeing him get his starting position every week must have ruffled a few feathers?

Don't get me wrong I love Joe, and in the title winning season he was epic, but he has been pretty poor this season (remember we are supposed to be a top flight European team).

We have got a few relatively easy (on paper) games coming up bar Spuds so Panti could have a decent run.

Now the question is who plays midweek....

If we win we qualify, which is a must. Hart has obviously looked shaky but Panti, while he hasn't disappointed, hasn't impressed. Today he literally had nothing to do.

Its going to be an interesting decision. Panti hasn't done anything to cause Pellegrini to worry but do you revert to Hart for a must-have?

You write "he hasn't impressed" and then say he had nothing to do. How can he impress if he had nothing to do ?

He did make a great diving save in the first half when called for.

The whole team played 'going through the motions'. It's always great when you try to do the right things all the time and get results too.

I particularly liked Edins goal and Samir was my mom today . Yayas freekick was brill.

To be honest i dont think the way we played can have been because of who was in goal. Norwich are a poor outfit and we would still have won if a random man from the crowd was drafted in to play in goal. Might not have kept clean sheet but still would've won.
Get the point re the outfield players stepping up a gear but were are best players not Nasri Silva & Aguero who this season have been our best players consistently. We will have a better gauge against better opposition. Is it Sunderland next week? Another spanking is on cards then.
I'm with you on the appreciation of Hart. Unsure of how he will return but i suppose if it goes badly & he loses plot a bit and doesnt come back stronger maybe it is best if he then moves on. Lets not dwell on that though and give the lad every chance to redeem himself. I for one think he has earned that
