Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Sadly people don’t seem to get that to raise that bar money has to be spent and investment made. City can not be knocked for this. I have seen a lot of negative comments in different media outlets about City Women and a lot come from males. What would a man know about he struggles of being a women footballer. I can imagine that the guys that made these comments could play football for there school team or a local club side when they were growing up?
In the 80s when I was a child there was no where for me to play, girls were not allowed to play in school teams and there were no girls teams around. Can you imagine being the most talented player in your school and not being allowed to play? What City are doing now will allow young girls to look up and see a professional women’s team that they can aspire to play for. I never had that chance as a child growing up to do this. I didn’t get to play a proper game of football with a kit on a proper pitch until I was 12. Women’s football has definitely progressed and moved on since the 80s….
It was really shocking to me when I first heard this from a friend that co-worker that moved over from England. He has two daughters and they couldn't believe the opportunities his girls had to play here. At my son's club I think the ratio is 2.5 girls for every boy playing.
Will any of your games be shown anywhere?

It's great that the club are allowing the girls to train with the lads, this will only help improve their skills etc. The U18s are meant to be a talented bunch.

and a striker?
who'da thunk it
One brief look at a 5 a side game told me Andie was ( had been /could have been) a striker.

The U18 training happens on a Monday at Platt Lane. It's only the full time girls.

well done on the clean sheet Cap
Also I see the England Captain Casey Stoney has come out, good for her, high profile and will hopefully give others the strength of character.

I'm loving that you captained City sis. I want to hear how that felt. Too busy training like a pro I guess.

I was extremely proud especially as my parents were there who dont get to a lot of games. I was also proud of how we played, we had several development players in the team and they put into practise what we have been doing on the training pitch. Final third still needs a little bit of work but that will come soon.

LIttle diary of the trip so far…
Got here quite late last night so was a case of get some food and then chill in our apartment, there are six of us per apartment. Its given us a good opportunity to get to know one another better.
This morning we were up at 830am for breakfast and then onto our first S&C session. We have our own programs so just work through these. We then went out onto the pitch after a short bus ride for a quick session. We did a bit of aerobic work followed by a 9v9 small game that was fast and furious.
After training I have done a bit for City TV that you will have to look out for on the the site. I also did a room mates thing with KB that was fun. I hope we come across well. Im not a big fan of being filmed but the media team we have with us are great and really put you at ease. Some are also fellow blues that makes it even better.
Just got a couple of hours to fill now before an afternoon session back out on the pitch. I could defo get used to this life….
As for the weather, it seems the wind has followed us from Abbey Hey. Windy and cool but I guess it beats snow which I hear is starting to fall in the UK.
