I think the chances are pretty high. There's probably some former KGB fucks there now tracking him. This won't take long.

I say this with the utmost respect, and as a former American and Global History teacher I can say that, yes, it was the ENTIRE Allied forces that together defeated the Nazis and Japanese Empire. European and in particular British forces were fighting their arses off, taking heavy casualties whilst being bombed, and persevered through it through determination, strategy and grit. It was the fact that the U.S. decided to join in that helped turn the tide of the war, but that does not mean the U.S. deserves more credit.

If rolls were reversed it would have been the U.S. that would have needed the British military to help defeat the Axis powers as well. The U.S. military on its own would have not won the war either so it was the cooperation and relationship between Churchill and FDR (two great and flawed leaders) who made that happen. They both deserve credit, and is a testimony to the positive relations that have since existed between the two nation states.

Peace!

Mind you, you did have a little bit of persuasion on the way to your decision "to join in", by virtue of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour.

Just heard this on the radio. They'll be talking about later.
Doesn't surprise me in the least. The FAI is a disgrace and I have absolutely no time for John Delaney, who should not still be there. He got in on the reform ticket saying his position would be temporary until the recommendations of The Genesis report were implemented. They paid 5miilion on the report which basically said that the present executives should stand down and put forward a whole lot of reforms.Delaney with his feet firmly under the desk decided he would stay and has been a bit of a joke since.( a bad one).

Nothing much to add after the radio piece on it. Apparently it's common knowledge for years but the first time Delaney had come out and talked about it. It stems from the public mockery Blatter made of Delaney and the FAI after the qualifier against France. Delaney was being ridiculous about taking legal action, regardless of whether you think we were cheated or not, but Blatter acted totally unprofessionally, which is not surprising. Anyway Blatter dealt with it by paying the FAI, not Delaney, to drop it, which looks like their normal MO.
Delaney is being totally hypocritical by bringing it up now. Hopping on the band wagon and you'd wonder what the overpaid wanker thinks he can gain from it.

I wonder if there is a single football association which isn't going to be shown as tainted by this cunt & his mob. England were cosying up to Jack Warner at one point, when they thought he might put his votes behind them.

They are all complicit in allowing this unspeakable shit to go on, year after year, & there should be mass resignations at the end of this.

The more that get shown up the better. As a knock on effect, I hope it makes any prejudicial use of any form of FFP, impossible for whoever is left standing. Clear the decks and come up with something that is actually fair.

Ted, you aren't naive, this is the way things rolled and it was the only way to get your foot in the door; but you know that. The difference with the England bid was that we only gave them top billing, gave them their luxuries but didn't leave the big brown envelope.

The England bidders weren't that naive, they played the game but did they have ulterior motives; can you see the heir apparent being indicted?

I was surprised that Blatter actually resigned, but optimistic for the future of the game now that he has done so.

It would help if the good old US of A stopped the likes speilburg and hanks distorting real history.
Back on topic..

As for Blatter resigning, it was literally only a matter of time.... Friday was his swan song in his very deluded mind.

Once chuck whatshisname was on board with the FBI/other legal bodies, all guilty parties including blubber will have realised the conversations he was party to and one by one they are beginning to tumble whilst cutting themselves a deal including chuk whatshisname, oh and now Jack Warner who was SO confident that he wasn't under investigation (last weekend), but today (as former VP) is prepared to spill the beans on all and sundry. If I'm honest, I half expect the FA to be muddied at some point and I wouldn't be surprised if USA 06 doesn't get questioned either if they are going back to France 98?
