... Brendan Rodgers once said that Tottenham should be challenging for the league, after spending over 100 million pounds... After spending nearly 300 million, Brendan ran out of excuses.

Bye Bye, Brendan... you're walking alone!

Nice to see Brenda continue with his bullshit even after his sacking.... he said:

'The current squad is one in transition, but they have some real talent and are showing a strong sense of togetherness. I expect to see them continue to grow and develop over the coming weeks and I wish them and my successor well for the rest of the season.

'Liverpool has a magnificent football heritage and I have nothing but respect and admiration for the history, tradition and values that make the city and the club so exceptional. '

I can't say I am going to miss his interviews. No doubt he will join sky/BT sport and add to the anfield back catalogue of rent a quotes

Did he actually have 100 % control over transfers?

I am thinking at the Balotelli saga.

I doubt very much he ever wanted Balotelli.

That's contrary to the quote in slippyG''s book. Brendan actually discussed the Balotelli transfer with Gerrard to get his thoughts before they put their bid in for him.

it's well known that it's a "transfer committee" which is why i think this is a mistake for Klopp.

Give Klopp the wrong players and you might be better hiring Big Fat Sam.

Before both deciding they didn't want him?
Always got the impression from Gerrard, that he didn't like him. Could be wrong.

Gerrard was non committal but did state that in the italy England game recently that Balotelli ran the show and was very impressive on his own up top.. so he didn't give a yes or no, just a view

I just remembered what Diouf said about Gerrard and his influence in the dressing room. How we has a racist and black players always had problems with him.

I can't believe the positive press Rodgers is getting and the way they are bigging up his title bid in 2013/14 saying how he was so unlucky.

Liverpool
League 2nd place
League cup 3rd Round
FA cup 5th round
European competition - not in any

City
League Winners
League cup Winners
FA cup 6th Round
European competition last 16 of UCL

Someone needs to give these journos a few facts

The fact that they'd no European football was a major factor in their league run.

Talking of luck, it's funny no one seems to mention how lucky they were to win that game against us. We took over that game after the first half hour and absolutely battered them only for Kompany to fuck up following their throw in and Coutinho to score the only opportunity they had in the second half.

Diouf is a toerag, I wouldn't believe a word that comes from his mouth.

I can't imagine Balo would've written this letter if he'd had a problem with Gerrard.

"Stevie,

"I had the honour to play with you, not for long but still an amazing an unforgettable experience for me.

"You are a great man and a cool captain! It's a pleasure leaving free kicks and penalties to you.

"I wish you all the best for your next venture and your family. You deserve the best.

"Good luck my friend.

"Mario Balotelli."

They regularly take the piss out of Liverpool/Rodgers/Stevie G on the radio show I posted earlier. They do the same with them all actually, Mourinho and Wenger especially. There's an impressionist over here called Mario Rosenstock, who does the voices. He hasn't perfected Louis yet but Roy Keane and Fergie used to be regular targets as well.

The running joke with Liverpool is the same old spiel being trotted out at the start of each season.start of season. How this year was going to be the one. Then come October-November they'd be concentrating on a top four finish and by December-January they'd be building for next year.
There was a good one from The 5th of August, at the start of the season, with Rodgers and Benteke are at the end doing the drivel talk.

Wasn't that the game where Martin S blatantly handballed in the box when defending a cross and unsurprisingly the ref or Lino missed it?

Brenda's bootlicking of all things Liverpool Football Club (which continues even after they've sacked him apparently) is so fucking over the top that I would give serious pause if I was a chairman in England searching for a new manager, regardless of his other merits. Never seen a manager grovel at the feet of a club and its supporters quite like that before.
"Certainly our programme is a full one, but as a player and as a manager I've always felt that there is only one way to go into a season...and that's to try to win every game.... While we are in four major competitions we shall try to win four major competitions." - Joe Mercer

I heard yesterday that Rogers receives a £7m pay-off.

Wow, the price of failure in football today!! Good work if you can get it
