Unexpected bonus is Vinny as half time summariser on espn. Wonder if he's getting his non-playing ducks in a row?

You're lucky mate. The other two are ok in Slaven Bilic and Emmanuel Petit but Hoddle is a nob of the first order. It's a shame because as a player he was absolute quality so you would think that he would offer some decent insight and opinions. The opposite is sadly true though.

The only thing I saw at the half was the first 5 seconds of hoddle before I muted and made a cuppa, and a Chris Kamara ad with him being typically awesome.

Yeah, they just said on commentary it was a "smoke flare", so ummm, that's now a thing.

Had a feeling it was in the ground. The crowd went quiet and then booed and whistled.

Speaking of Turkey, what ever happened to that Turkish teenager we bought (was it 2 seasons ago?) who was already playing for their national team ? Was loaned out never to be heard of again.

Unal? Went out on loan I believe.

Did anyone else hear the classical music come on for 2 seconds there?

Will Croatia live to regret all these missed chances?

That was a Croatian Fan that was able to join in the huddle after the goal wasn't it ? Not their Trainer ..

Yep Security is a disaster, last night the Russians managed to get get fireworks into the stadium and decided to "Rush the barricades" (as REM sing).

Northern Irish fans set upon by local rowdies...

Off to a good start eh ?

looks great for the supposed ramped up French security post-Parisian attacks that supporters can still smuggle in flares & smoke bombs. if they can get those in what else could someone sneak in....

Not making light of the security issue Phips but given what happened in Orlando, you have enough to worry about on your own side of the Atlantic.

A few more goals in the tournament wouldn't go amiss.
