Some very nice play but only 3 shots on target is quite poor. Everton haven't got a clue on our system and to be honest, neither do I with all the interchanging.

I think we need to be a little more direct and turn them at the back using the likes of Raheem running through. They're like a wall of yellow buses at the moment, hoofing the ball up in an attempt to hit their big guy.

Sane's impressed me so far.

The Dutch pundits just made a good point. Without overlapping fullbacks, Sané and Sterling are too easy to read for the Everton fullbacks.

what do dominating possession stats mean if you only have 2 shots on target, one of which was a weak shot right at the keeper and the other was a poor penalty that was saved?

i agree that the way that the side man-handled Everton was impressive but it means fuck all if you dont threaten their goal.

but not unprecedented

We're getting good at it. Games like this should be done and dusted at HT with the second being a warm down before midweek.

Bit ott I know but we play that well 1st half's it shouldn't be close

Strange half. You can nearly see it being one of those days. Felt KDB would miss.

Our team selection looks ideal to hit fast on the break but we have so much possession in their half. The same team selection doesn't look like the team to pick their way through a crowded experienced defence.
A pity about the penalty. I feel if we were 1-0 up and they had to press higher up the field, this team could pick them off

Very disappointed that the lad Nacho didn't get to take that penalty. I just knew Prince Kevin wouldn't score.

Just seen the following from a report on sporting life

'Hard challenge from Coleman on Sterling there. sterling is struggling"

'Looks like job done for Coleman'

How the folk can they write this

That's what you get when the media continually dig away at our team/club. Then it becomes second nature.

He did alright, but I thought he slowed down our tempo too much. He always chose the easy option laying the ball back to where he got it from. HR should have taken more chances, imo.
