This situation is tailor made for Lillo and why I think Pep brought him in. Pep respects Lillo's opinion supposedly.

Lillo is there to tell Pep your team selection yesterday was wrong, here is why and this is what you need to do.

I have always thought that the new pragmatic approach was driven by Lillo advising Pep.
Yesterday Pep seems to have just ignored the advise and justification proved via results and reverted to type.

Hopefully Lillo gets hold of him and talks some sense into Pep and he gets back to doing what works before he spunks away another CL and possible a PL and LC.

As ever time will tell.

Interesting point. Ive just started reading 'Peps City' and in the early chapters it tells how Pep likes to surround himself with knowledgeable subject matter experts who are not afraid to challenge his decisions before ultimately, doing it his way. Perhaps as ever, the truth lies somewhere between the two. The worry is that pretty much everyone said bernie and foden to start and no KDB yesterday and yet Pep did the oppisite.

Agree with this. The last couple of derbies we had the right approach. Ole knows only one way of playing, I thought Pep had learned this, seems I was wrong.

If we hadn’t started like a bunch of deranged idiots giving a pen away after just 40 seconds we would have beat a very average rag team even with peps fuck up of a starting eleven . How we started the game was fucking hideous from the players ALL OF THEM but mainly JESUS the stupid cunt .
