Carlos Tevez has appealed to the Premier League against the six-week fine imposed by Manchester City for his ongoing absence.

City imposed the fine after finding Tevez guilty of gross misconduct on December 22.

Tevez subsequently appealed against the punishment but that was thrown on January 7 after a hearing involving two City directors, Marty Edelman and Mohamed al-Mazrouei.

However, as with the disciplinary action brought against him after his non-appearance in Munich last September, Tevez had the option of taking the matter to the Premier League and Press Association Sport understands he has done just that.

Back in September, the 27-year-old succeeded in having a fine reduced from six weeks' wages to two, a saving of approximately £800,000.

In this instance, City feel their case is watertight given the punishment related to Tevez's presence in Argentina, where he has remained since November 7.

With it appearing increasingly likely Tevez will still be a City player after the end of today's transfer deadline, his assimilation back into Roberto Mancini's squad does not look like being straightforward.

The Premier League will now be forced to schedule a hearing date, although it could be the end of next month before that takes place.

I really wouldnt be surprised if the fa made us give him his wages plus any bonuses he has lost out on and say "He didn't refuse to play, he just refused to train".

Carlos Tevez's advisors have told Sky Sports News that the AWOL Argentina international will not be leaving during the January transfer window, but could still depart Manchester City for a club in South America or Russia, who are not bound by the same deadlines.

Yeah; but the problem is he always has to be the centre of attention.

If he's scoring goals and winning matches he can be the center of anything he wants to be.

Bringing him back isnt the answer. He's unfit, unmotivated, and doesnt want to be here.

With Aguero out of form, Bollo either injured or suspended most of the time, and Dzeko, we are struggling up top and having Tevez still on the books has stopped us from bringing someone in to give us a bit extra upfront.

A sad state of affairs

Dzeko & Balotelli were never likely to be reliable over a whole season for one reason and another. We were unfortunate that Tevez gave the impression he would stay, then shit on us. It has left us a man short.

Ill never rely on Balotelli for anything, but I didn't think Dzeko would be this bad on a weekly basis.

He looked exactly the same in Germany to me. Great goals one day, half arsed mediocrity the next. When I watched him I saw him win some games but I also I saw him lose them & he missed a lot of chances as well as scoring them.

As an option player, I think he's great to have around. As someone you rely on, I don't think he's ever going to be anywhere near it at the level we require. The real partner for Aguero hasn't been signed yet imo.

I think it was Fulham, where he came on as a sub and was one on one with the 'keeper and in a situation where he would have scored last season, he missed it, and where I thought he wasn't trying.

Tev gets the old pal’s axe

CARLOS TEVEZ faces another bust-up with Manchester City if he plays in a tribute match for a pal in Buenos Aires on Saturday.
The AWOL former Etihad skipper, already £9.5million out of pocket from club fines, has been told he must return now the January transfer window is closed.

But Tevez insists he wants to play in Martin Palermo's testimonial.

Tevez said: "I wouldn't miss this celebration for anything."

City have signed 6ft 8in Romanian keeper Costel Pantilimon for £3m from Timisoara.

Tevez questions City dealings

Carlos Tevez has hit out at Manchester City for blocking a number of potential moves away for him during the January transfer window.

The striker claimed the Blues rejected offers from Inter Milan, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain which could have ended his Eastlands nightmare.

Tevez has been searching for an exit since September, following his alleged refusal to come on as a substitute against Bayern Munich during a UEFA Champions League group game.

The 27-year-old has been absent from City's first team since heading home to Argentina early in November, having been found guilty of gross misconduct.

The former Manchester United and West Ham striker has appealed to the Premier League against the fine for gross misconduct of approximately £1.2million imposed on him by City.

But as Tevez fights to bring his career with Roberto Mancini's team to a close, he has described how "something always wasn't right" with the deals on the table during the winter window.

"The situation is very strange for me," Tevez told Kicker.

"I wanted to go and had offers from other leagues, from Spain and Italy. But it did not work out in the end because City did not accept any of the offers.

"There were offers from (AC) Milan, Inter and PSG. But something always wasn't right."

And Tevez doubts whether City would even allow him to leave the club on loan.

"If all regularities are right and the clubs agree a transfer with City, I can see myself going there, even on loan," he said.

"But after all that has happened with Milan or Inter, I don't know if City wants me to leave on loan.

"If the rules allow it and City agree then that could be a possibility, if only as a loan, but I don't know how Milan or Inter might feel about that.

"In any case, City want a definite transfer. That's what complicates everything because they have made it clear they want a transfer fee for me."
